Preparing your Trees and Landscape for Spring
Spring is just around the corner and now is the best time to get your landscape and trees in shape! Make sure that your landscape is ready for new spring growth by following these simple guidelines:
- Prune fruit and woody trees (Ash, Birch, Oaks and Pines).
- Apply a fungicide to Crabapples, Hawthornes and Pines to help protect them from disease.
- Inject deep root tree fertilization to stimulate new growth.
- Apply a fruit reducer to lessen fruit production (Sweet Gums, Flowering Crabs, Ornamental Pears, Redbuds, Locust, Hedge).
- Clean out dead plants and debris from last year's garden beds.
- Add a fresh layer of mulch to garden beds.
- Prepare lawns with an early pre-emergent fertilization application for broadleaf weed control.
- Sign up for your spring irrigation evaluation and activation.
Arbor Masters® are your professionals to ensure that your trees and landscape have every advantage for a healthy growing season. Contact your local Arbor Masters® office to learn more about the services available in your area.

Storm Damaged Trees - What Happens Next?
No one is ever prepared to deal with the aftermath of a seasonal storm and the destruction it can cause. Repair costs resulting from the damage caused by broken limbs, or worse, fallen trees on your landscape, car or house can run into thousands of dollars. So, what do you do if this happens to you? Your first call should be to your insurance agent who will advise if your policy covers this type of damage. The second call should be to a licensed, insured and experienced tree care company who can safely remove and dispose of the tree debris.

Read more to learn about preparing your trees for the next storm. Then, contact the certified tree professionals at Arbor Masters® Tree Service to request a free estimate.

Protecting your Hardwood Trees
Have you noticed premature browning of leaves on your Ash, Oaks, Birch, Walnut, Sycamore or Maple trees? Are the buds dying before they have a chance to bloom? Your trees may be suffering from Anthracnose, a fungus that can attack trees and cause premature loss of leaves, dieback on smaller branches and leaves and premature leaf drop.
This disease affects a wide variety of tree species and treatments may vary depending on the type of tree. The best prescription for Anthracnose is a systemic fungicide treatment, applied by a certified applicator, to combat the disease. Contact the tree experts at Arbor Masters® for a free evaluation to see if your valuable trees are at risk.
