Greetings!
August brings some mixed emotions as we say good-byes. We have been blessed with an incredible summer staff! Ten college students, with hearts for Christ and serving youth, have worked diligently with cheerful spirits and willing attitudes. They connected with many students in addition to often working long or odd hours doing a multitude of jobs. They were teachable and ready to absorb what Jim Byrne and the staff had to teach them. Thank you to: Graham Thompson, David Sturgeon, Maddy Parks, JD McAleer, Becca Lee, Caitlin Jeffery, Luke Jeffery, Christian Holmes, Anna Glendening and Lucas Alderfer. May God bless you this coming year as you return to college. In addition, we said good-bye to Matt Morgan on July 31 as he left our CR staff to assist Johnny Kurcina with leading worship and Youth Ministry at Christ Church Vienna. Last, but never least, we say good-bye to Stephanie Dole on August 15. Steph has brought much spirit and love to the CS girls these past 5 years, not to mention our office! While we find it hard to let her leave, we are excited that she is following a dream that God has instilled in her heart and heading off to minister in New Zealand! Our prayers and love and deep gratitude will go with you Steph!

New Crossroads Staff coming on September 1!
We are delighted to announce that we have filled our Crossroads (middle school) full-time staff positions.
Betsy Christian, (on the right) has served on our volunteer Youth Family for over two years now. A graduate of Grove City College, she served on the Hill for 4 years in the capacities of Legislative Director and Legislative Correspondent. A summer worker at Summer's Best Two Weeks, she has also taught 8th and 10th grade History in Mercer , PA. A friend of both Laura and Matt, we are happy she has agreed to serve with us. The daughter of decorated Marine, Betsy is gifted in music, organization, and over the past three years has shown herself to be consistent in her care and discipleship of middle school girls.
Eric Garner, (on the right) grew up in TFC while his father, Steve served on our staff a number of years ago. Eric has most recently served at Vienna Presbyterian Church working with youth as that ministry has struggled to rebuild. A strong athlete, Eric has a big Christ centered heart that flows out of him into the life of kids. His strong desire to communicate God's Word to teenagers will have a positive effect as he ministers here. Gifted in video and technology, he will round out our team well. An extremely hard worker with a strong work ethic, he has served in his father's contracting business, seeing construction projects completed and getting things done right the first time.
