Greetings!
We are back from our market trips in January -- just one more to go this month! WOW! Lots of wonderful new products and inspiration for the rest of the year. Follow product introductions on our blog, Postmark: Vintages of Los Gatos, as some have already arrived and more will come in over the next couple of months.
Let us know what you think about our newsletter ... and our products as well. Give us ideas for content, ask questions and pass a copy along to a friend.
Thanks, Bob & Susan Bortfeld

Made in America Over the past couple of years we have been increasing the number of American-made products in our store. So we thought it was time to devote our featured product blog to these products exclusively. Starting this month that's what we are doing, so visit our Made in America blog to see fantastic items from your fellow Americans. Some of these items are vintage or antique, others are contemporary. Many are hand made. All are made with pride by American craftsmen and craftswomen.

Valentine's Day is Tuesday, February 14th Valentine greetings ... Hearts, I Love You, Be Mine, Hugs & Kisses, ...
Remember those little heart-shaped candies with love notes on them? Susan has replicated those thoughts on handcrafted, decorated and embellished wooden tags. These are just a small part of what we have at Vintages to help you say: I want you to be my Valentine! See more of our selection on our Postmark blog. |
Inspiration & Trends from the January Trade Shows
The big gift show in Atlanta highlighted some interesting trends in the world of gifts and home decor. Clearly the American consumer is wanting more American made products, something we are doing here at Vintages. There are also some shifts in decorative motifs, like increased use of antiques and inclusion of industrial chic accessories. The color of the year was proclaimed to be Tangerine Tango. I highlighted more on these trends in this blog post.We also found some re-invigorating inspiration at the craft and hobby show last week. While scrapbooking papers and rubber stamps continue to be crafting favorites, more embellishments and techniques used by mixed-media artists are being offered as well. More on the CHA in this post.

Worth Reading
Don Blanding was a 20th century Rennaissance man. Self-proclaimed as an Artist by Nature, Actor by Instinct, Poet by Accident, Vagabond by Choice. His many books and poems about Hawaii are wonderful. His artwork not only graces the pages of his books, but also the surfaces of some of Vernon Kilns' best selling tableware.
This site is dedicated to Hawaii's intriguing vagabond.
