We would like to thank all of our loyal customers who have supported Vintages throughout the past year. We enjoyed meeting you and helping you in the shop. Now it is time to set our sights on the new year. We plan to fill Vintages with gifts, crafts and antiques that you will love. January is our month to attend trade shows and make our purchases for most of the year. It is a daunting but fun task. We hope to bring fresh ideas, designs and products into Vintages and will keep you up to date through our newsletter and blog.
Let us know what you think about our newsletter ... and our products as well. Give us ideas for content, ask questions and pass a copy along to a friend.

Vintage Crafting Ephemera on Pretty Ribbons We have just uploaded a number of wonderful old original paper ephemera to Susan's Etsy site -- Pretty Ribbons. These include 1890s hand written letters to Charles Crocker of San Francisco, a selection of vintage French receipts and invoices for shoes, a couple of old menus and more. We have these and additional original vintage ephemera available in the Los Gatos shop, but please remember that these are all one-of-a-kind items.

Recent Additions to Vintages' Antiques Catalog  We have added a wonderful selection of items to our online antique sales site -- also available in the shop, of course. I love folk art and have brought in some special handcrafted pieces, including several dolls and toys, a collection of ice fishing decoys and lures, and a couple of 19th century santos statues. In the jewelry collection we now have a great selection of carved jade pieces, including bracelets, rings and pendants. With the recent hub-bub about Elizabeth Taylor's personalized charm bracelets that sold at Christie's, I am highlighting our own collection of charms and charm bracelets. Our Postmark: Los Gatos blog has additional information on the charm bracelets and folk art pieces. |

January Store Schedule
For the most part we are back to normal hours at Vintages during January:
* Open Tuesdays through Saturdays 10am - 6pm
* Open Sundays "by chance"
* Closed on Mondays.
However, we will be attending two trade shows during the month and will be closed Jan 12th through 18th (re-open on Jan 19th) and Jan 27th through 31st (re-open Feb 1st).

Antiques & Collectibles Class Early Announcement
Mark your calendars for the Spring session of our Antiques and Collectibles class. This class is an overview to help expand your appreciation for antiques through a fun and educational 6-week workshop. Attendees will be provided with a basic vocabulary and timeline for understanding antiques and collectibles. Each class will feature a bit of history, a collection theme and a show & tell by attendees. Themes will include silver, jewelry, china/porcelain, ephemera and more.
Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings, 6:30 - 8:30pm, from March 20th through April 24th, in the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce conference room. More to come from both Vintages and LGS Recreation, so watch our blog and look for the LGS Rec booklet in the mail. |
