Halloween is now on display here at Vintages. We have witches and skeletons, spiderwebs and haunted houses, black cats and jack-o-lanterns. We also have a nice selection of decorative pumpkins made from natural materials. Check it all out in this special issue of our newsletter.
Just a reminder that I will be leading an interactive class on antiques and collectibles in Los Gatos on Tuesday nights starting September 27th. This six week class is all about antiques and collectibles for fun! Topics include silver, jewelry, porcelain and ephemera. The focus will be on collections and enjoying antiques.

Antiques & Collectibles Class � Tuesday Nights from Sept 27th to Nov 1st.
 We will be leading a class on Antiques and Collectibles at the Los Gatos Adult Recreation Center this Fall. It will be held on Tuesday nights, from 6:30 to 8:30, starting on September 27th and continuing through November 1st. For more information see our blog announcement or the class catalog page. Set aside the dates and plan to join us. Spaces are still available. The class will be organized around antiques and vintage collections ... some popular, others a little bit more obscure, but just as interesting. In each class session we will discuss the history and timelines of the topic, to give us an understanding of styles and materials, as well as a basis to be able to decipher the age and provenance of an antique. Class themes will include jewelry, china, silver, ephemera and more. We will bring some samples of the antiques and collectibles into class (you are encouraged to bring in your own examples as well) and we will also view examples of the works of the important designers and artists who have created the masterworks. Each class will end with a chance for all attendees to show and tell their own antiques and collections. The class will be held at: Los Gatos Adult Recreation Center

Worth Reading
 This exhibit, A Child's View: 19th-Century Paper Theaters, was on display at the Bruce Museum, Greenich, CT, earlier this year. These are some pretty fantastic paper theaters. Worth a look.
