Summer is in full swing. The sun and warm weather are wonderful. Our home garden is full of tomatoes, flowers and peaches. Vintages is reflecting summer with lots of bright new offerings and a new set of Paris themed accessories ... AHH! Paris in summer, when it sizzles ... We try to keep the shop's offerings fresh and new, so stop on in and see what we have added.
Also, I will be leading a class on antiques and collectibles in Los Gatos this fall. More on the class below.

Antiques & Collectibles Class in Los Gatos this Fall
 We will be leading a class on Antiques and Collectibles at the Los Gatos Adult Recreation Center this Fall. It will be held on Tuesday nights, from 6:30 to 8:30, starting September 27th and continuing through November 1st ... More information will be available in the course catalog which is due to be published soon ... Set aside the dates and plan to join us. I'll send out a notice when registration is available. Official Course Description: Restore your appreciation for antiques through this fun and educational 6-week workshop. Class attendees will be provided with a basic vocabulary and timeline for understanding antiques and collectibles. Each class will feature a bit of history, a collection theme and a show & tell by attendees. The focus is on enjoying antiques and collectibles. Class themes will include jewelry, china, silver, collectibles and more. Participants will be provided a detailed outline at the first class describing what types of collections we will focusing on and the types of items to bring in for show & tell segments. |

August's Birthstones:Carnelian
Peridot 
Carnelian & Peridot are the birthstones for August. Carnelian is a versatile stone, comfortable in antique settings and yet popular in modernist jewelry as well. Peridot is an under-rated gemstone. It can be a beautiful bright green gem when faceted or a luscious pale green when displayed as a cabochon.
