Happy Valentines Day from Vintages of Los Gatos |
Greetings!
With "market month" over for us, things are getting back to normal. We placed a lot of orders at the shows and the products have already started to arrive, although most will come in slowly over the next several months. It's time for hearts and Valentines, and we've got them in stock. Come on in and say "hi". Let us know what you think about our newsletter ... and our products as well. Give us ideas for content. Ask questions. And pass a copy along to a friend.

Bob's Tips of the Trade
Over the years we have had to replace the glass in many miniature frames. If they are square or rectangular, that's usually not an issue. But if they are round, oval or irregular in shape it is virtually impossible to find replacements or to cut our own. The same is true about the glass in lockets, as these are not only irregular, but very thin. Here's a great solution. Use a sheet of mylar (or other strong, transparent sheet plastic) and cut it to fit. Add extra backing board if necessary. Voila! It looks great!

Collections: Vintage Lockets

| Victorian Lockets |
Tiny treasures make great collections. Items like lockets are easy to display, take up little space and are wearable! But the real reason to collect these little gems is that they all have a history. Oh, it's true you will only learn a few of the stories, but if they could talk, what would they say!
Lockets are by far the most versatile and personal form of jewelry. It is exciting to discover the story behind the locket. Whenever you get an antique locket, the anticipation of what you will find inside is part of the intrigue. Photos are by far the most common, but finding a hand painted image, a lock of hair, a bit of a relic, or a poem inside is like WOW! Read more ...
