Greetings!
It is May already and the school year is nearing the end. This is a busy time of year and we have lots of things going on at ICMS. Thanks to the hard work of many families, our playground is looking beautiful. Our annual Mother's Day tea is scheduled for this week. The rummage sale collection has begun. The sale is on May 14th. And we finish off the year with an family barbeque!
This has been a really fun year in the classroom and we can't believe how much everyone has grown over the year!

MOTHER'S DAY TEA
 Thursday, May 5th is one of our favorite days! It is the annual Mother's Day Tea. This is a special day for your ICMS child to share with Mom. The students have prepared a special gift for Mom. They have practiced some songs to celebrate the day. There will be some light refreshments to follow. The children really enjoy this special celebration with their Moms. There will be no regular classes on Thursday. The morning tea will begin at 10:00am. The afternoon class tea will begin at 1:00. Since this is a "Mom & me" event. We ask that you make other arrangements for siblings. We look forward to seeing all the Moms on Thursday!

 PLAYGROUND UPDATE AND COMPLETION
Thank you to all the families who helped clean up our playground! It looks great!! The weeds are gone, the sand box is re-filled, we have a new garden (there are already buds on some of the flowering plants) and there is a frame for a new covered area. This Saturday, May 7th, we will be installing a canvas cover on the covered area frame. We could use a few able bodies and it really should not take too long. If you would like to help with this installation, call Joan. |
FAMILY BARBEQUE
 The end of the school year is rapidly approaching! We would like to celebrate our wonderful ICMS families with a family barbeque. We know this is a busy time of year, so we are combining the "music program" and picnic into one event. The barbeque is scheduled for Wednesday, June 8th at 6pm, here at school. ICMS will provide hamburgers & hot dogs. There will be sign-up sheets to bring salads, sides and desserts to share. Each family will need to bring their own beverages, plates and utensils & picnic blanket. This will be a great way to celebrate a great school year, say goodbye to our graduating students and start the summer. Hope to see you all there! |

YEAR BOOK SALES

Have you ordered your ICMS yearbook?
Min Yoo (Finn's mom) and Jill Beermann (Holly's mom) have been putting together a wonderful yearbook for us. Each includes photos, quotes and artwork from all of our great students. The years go by so fast, it is really nice to have something to help keep the memories.
Each yearbook is $18 (make checks payable to ICMS).
Deadlines for orders were today. But if you would like to get a yearbook, let us know & bring your check in when you drop off your child this week.

SUMMER SCHOOL
Three sessions to be offered in July
We are planning some great summer camp sessions. There will be three week-long programs offered, each with a different fun-filled theme. These camps will start the week of July 11th.

RUMMAGE SALE
Saturday, May 14th
We are now accepting gently-used toys, children's books, clothes and children's furniture for our rummage sale. You can bring your items to school. a storage area has been made available in the building across the parking lot. All proceeds will go directly to the school.
Volunteer sign-up sheets will be posted soon.

IN CLOSING...THANKS!
The end of the school year is always a bit sad. We have many students moving on and we will miss them all. Please keep in touch, we love to see "alumni" and hear how everyone is doing.
Fortunately, we have many families who will be with us for the 2011-12 school year.
For those families continuing with us next year, you will soon receive a letter confirming your child's enrollment for the fall.
