Greetings!

We are beginning the last third of our school year and I want you to know how much we have enjoyed your children and how much we have appreciated your support.
After Spring Break, we will have no breaks until Memorial Day and you will notice a big leap in your children's learning.  It will be an exciting time and also a fruitful one.
If you have not given us your registration for next year, please do as soon as possible (with or without a check) as we are trying to make plans for staffing and enrollment .

School Picturesschool picture day

We have scheduled individual and class pictures for April 6, 2011.  T&C Photos out of Poulsbo will be here about 10:45am to begin taking pictures.

We will be sending home order forms next week and they must be filled out and returned before your child's picture will be taken.  If your child does not attend school on Wednesdays but you want their picture taken with the group and possibly individual picture, they are welcome to come for the pictures or if you would like you may arrange an extra school day.

Playground work party

Get your work gloves & bring some friends!

The calendar tell us that Spring begins this Sunday, March 20th.  With nicer weather coming, we would like to schedule a work party for Saturday, April 16, 2011.  We can begin at 9:00 and work for a few hours to spruce up the playground.

In addition, Craden H. has put together a plan for a cover on our structure.  If all comes together, we would like to also schedule the building of this struture for the same Saturday.  The building may take a little longer than the work party, so if you would like to help build, please plan to stay  longer.  The children will be thrilled and will thank you for having a covered structure to play under on these rainy days we seem to be having more and more.
Please bring your rakes, shovels, gloves and strong muscles.  More information to follow after Spring Break.

Love and Logic Group Study

Parenting Techniques & Information

We are going to have a Love and Logic study group in April.  It will run two Saturdays, April 9th and 23rd from  900am to 1:00pm.  The cost will be $40.00 for one parent and $60 for both parents.  All families, friends and past L&L families are welcome.  Bring your questions and concerns and we will try to answer them.
If you would like more information about lLove and Logic, please talk with us (we use this method in our classroom) or you can check at their website.

Volunteering in the classroom

Spending a day with your child

We have posted the schedule for the remainder of the school year for volunteers in our classroom.  The children love "sharing" their classroom with their parents and we love having the extra hands. The sign up sheets are in the hall on the bulletin board, please sign up and share a class with your child.

All Parent Meeting followed by PreK and K parent discussionparent meeting

On April 6, 2011, we would like to have an all parent meeting to discuss the future directions of our school.  We would like to hear from you, the parents, how we can improve our program and increase our enrollment.  With tough economy times, our school has incurred a decrease in enrollment and would very much value your opinions.  We will keep the meeting short and to the point, so please plan on joining us that evening.

Following that portion of the meeting, we would like to meet with PreK and K parents(and anyone interested) to discuss our Kindergarten program and the value of the program.  We will also discuss the class times, how our program can enhance the BISD kindergarten half-day program, and what we can do to support each other to give your child the best possible start for their future education.

Honor Roll in High School and Woodward

 honor roll

Congratulations to all the former ICMS students who made the honor roll at the High School and Middle School. the honor roll lists students with a 4.0 to 3.2 semester grade average. ICMS alumni make up approximately 5% of the High school Honor roll, including one National Merit Scholar.
A full ten percent of the current Woodward honor roll is made up of former ICMS students!
A vast majority of these honored students spent their kindergarten year at ICMS and we would like to think we played a part in their success.
