HALLOWEEN PARTY Mark your calendar and get out your costumes. ICMS' annual Halloween party will be held October 26th from 7:00-8:00pm at the Bainbridge Island Commons located at 370 Brien Dr SE. This facility is located behind the Town and Country Grocery and below the play area. There will be games, prizes, a costume parade and the evening will end with a sing along and a small treat. Hope you can make it.

JOIN US ON FACEBOOK Please become a friend to ICMS' Facebook page. Each day, we will post a question about something your child learned or heard in the classroom that day. Often children will tell their parents nothing happened at school and parents are left wondering "what are they doing each day?". The questions on Facebook will often open the door to deeper discussions. Give it a try and let us know how it is working.

MUSIC TOGETHER Heather began Music Together last week and the children immediately enjoyed her and the music. Heather has asked each child to listen to the CDs that were placed in the cubbies. This helps her and the children have more fun with the sessions as everyone is familiar with the music. Heather will be with us each Tuesday throughout the year. Each quarter the music changes and all the children will become familiar with different rhythms and music. Music Together ends at 12:30 for the morning class. If you are bringing a child for lunch, please enter the classroom quietly and get them settled for their lunch. All will appreciate this help. Thank you!

HELP OUR ENROLLMENT
We have a few openings in both our morning and afternoon classes and would like to add a few more families. If you recommend ICMS to a friend and they enroll, we would like to give you a $50.00 reduction on your tuition for one month or one month free lunches(4 times a week for the month valued at $99). Please help us expand our enrollment. You are not limited to one family, bring in as many as you can and possibly earn a free month of tuition!

FUNDRAISER SOCIAL GET TOGETHER Island Children's Montessori is a small nonprofit school and relies on tuition to maintain the materials and equipment, our facilities and the staff to ensure a rich learning experience for all your children. Often tuition alone is not enough to meet all the needs that are necessary to continue the same level of growth and quality we are now recognized for. To this end, the staff and families must have fundraisers to enhance the budget. Last year our fundraiser was so successful, the school was able to maintain tuition at the 2009-2010 level and still help many families who are experiencing difficulties in today's economy. We would like to continue this trend next year but for this to happen, we must have some successful fundraisers this year. We will have a social get together on October14th and would like to brainstorm with as many families as possible to see how we can achieve these goals. We will meet at 7:00pm at the school. Please mark your calendars and join us for this very important meeting. The future of ICMS is dependent on family interaction and successful fund raising.

LUNCHES AT ICMS ICMS
offers a supervised lunch experience for our children. If you would
like to join us for lunch every day or some days, please let one of the
teachers know. We have plenty of room and the children seem to enjoy
this special relaxed time together. Please pack a nutritious lunch for your child to enjoy. The lunch period runs from 12 noon to 1pm. After we eat, we go outside to play. The afternoon classroom time starts at 1pm. Please check your parent manual for fee schedules.

TUITION Tuition is due at the first of each month. This year we are now accepting Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover credit cards. If you would like, we can set up automatic monthly, quarterly or semi annual payments. Please complete your credit card information on the special form and turn it in. I will have a special place to keep these forms so no one else will have access to your information. If you would like to make quarterly, semi annual or one annual payment, there are discounts available. Check the parent manual or ask me. Also, some of you may be experiencing financial difficulties with our present economy. If this is the case for your family, please talk to me. There are some arrangements we can make together. An example of this would be to spread out payments to 12 months rather than 10. I will try to work out a plan that works for you and the school. Unfortunately, our scholarship funds are tapped out but there are other things we can do. As always, these arrangements are kept in confidence between you and me.

TRIED CHILDREN Many of you may have noticed tried, cranky children. This is normal. Just think about those times you started a new job and how exhausted you were. Your children are starting a new career and their little bodies and minds are absorbing a lot in a short few hours. Over the next month or two, these outbursts will disappear or subside and you will once again see your beautiful little ones. In the meantime, make sure you are providing plenty of good food, rest and lots of downtime--life will get back to normal even quicker. Their little bodies are using all their reserves to keep it together.
