Session II of Environmental Eagles Begins Soon
Registration Forms are Online
A big Thank You to all the students and parent volunteers who assisted with the Fall term of Environmental Eagles which ended in December. HAE, along with the community, filled the PaperRetriever dumpster nearly four times each month -- saving landfill space, earning money for our school AND learning lifelong conservation habits.

The Winter/Spring term will begin on Tuesday, January 11. E-Eagles will continue to meet on Tuesdays after school from 3-3:50 p.m. Students who would like to participate must complete an application. Forms can be found at hendrickspta.com or in the main office.  Students wishing to continue participation must also complete an application.

Of course, this program would not be a success without the assistance from parent volunteers. Please take this opportunity into consideration. Get involved and make a difference!
Donuts with Dad
Third Graders to Feast With Special Men in Their Lives
donut
Third grade dads, grandads, uncles, big brothers, etc. -- Wednesday, January 12 is a memorable morning of fellowship for students and the special men in their lives to enjoy. Donuts for Dads are held from 7:30-8:15 a.m. in the auditorium.

Volunteers are needed for this event to help make it a success. Contact Trevor Orr to volunteer. To find out more information on the scheduled day for your students grade level, please visit hendrickspta.com

Hendricks Tree Planting Ceremony
Celebrate State of Florida Arbor Day with Us
Please join us in a tree planting day in honor of the State of Florida Arbor Day on Saturday, January 29 at 2 p.m. Greenscape of Jacksonville has donated seven trees to help enrich our school grounds. We hope to have a large turn out of students and parents at this fun event sponsored by Greenscape! Contact Angela Atkins, 993-1894 with questions or for more information.

Box Tops/Labels for Education
Ice Cream Contest Continues
Great job to all families who have collected Box Tops and Labels for Education since school began this year! Recently, Hendricks received a check for $1,277 for our collections and we have 4900 labels points to redeem for merchandise.

November contest class winners for the most collections per student:
First Place - Mrs. Braddock's fifth grade class, winning $30
Second Place - Ms. Lombana's 2nd-grade glass, winning $20.

The GRADE-LEVEL contest continues . . . The grade level that submits the most combined tops & labels by Friday, February 11 will win a prize (TBA.) Second Grade won the ice cream contest in October... who will be the big winners this time?
At Hendricks Avenue Elementary School, students receive more than the standard education that our district's funds can provide. The school's standard of excellence is made possible not only by its dedicated teachers and staff but through the efforts of you and your HAEPTA.

Sincerely,

Hendricks Avenue Elementary Parent Teacher Association
