Product Information
We are very excited to announce the upcoming launch of the Neoss Tapered Implant. The Tapered implant was developed based on customer feedback and expert engineering and incorporates the same surface as our successful ProActive implant. Its unique tapered design makes it suitable for all indications and bone types.
In keeping with our commitment of Science and Simplicity, the Neoss Tapered implant is completely compatible with our current "one platform" prosthetic concept and solutions.
Customers will also be able to use our existing surgical kit with the addition of only 5 drills and a tapered organizer insert (and optional countersinks & screw taps).
The product was pre-launched at the AO meeting in Phoenix, March 1-3, 2012, at an event which included world renowned engineer and researcher John B. Brunski, PhD. The product is expected to be launched fully to the US market in May.
Contact your local Neoss representative or Customer Support at 866-626-3677 for more information.

Neoss Links Customer Highlights & Case Feedback

Paul Rosen, DMD, MS, a private practitioner in Yardley, PA, commenting on his experience with ProActive implants having placed more than 600 of them: "It has always been my method to select an implant system based upon sound scientific fundamentals with simplicity and versatility of use also factoring into the decision. ProActive has shown direct translation of this to my clinical practice with a better than 98% success rate while achieving not only functional but esthetically pleasing prosthetic outcomes. I believe that at the heart of this is the electro-wetted surface that provides faster and more robust integration even in the most challenging situations. Some believe that all rough surfaces are created relatively the same. I do not believe that to be true and ProActive has shown this to me with its "Bump" phenomenon where a dip in stability seems to be a concept of the past." -Paul S Rosen, DMD, MD -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out "The Curious Dentist", a blog for dentists by Chris Salierno DDS, an internationally-recognized lecturer and author on clinical dentistry and practice management. It features short video clips on open and closed tray impression taking among many other topics. _____________________________________________________________________________
Neoss Case Presentation
Giancarlo G. Romero D.D.S., M.S. Maxillofacial Prosthodontist Private Practice Bellaire, Texas www.houstondentalimplantcenter.com Ph. 713-664-1661
Achieving passive fit with the use of CAD/CAM technology and NeoLinks™
One of the main failures in implant dentistry is the lack of passive fit in fixed implant supported prosthesis. The lack of passivity can result in screw loosening, fractured screws, fractured implants, loss of osseointegration, etc. This case report explains the use of the NeoLink™ together with CAD/CAM technology to avoid complications arising from lack of passivity when fabricating fixed implant partial prosthesis.
An 82 y.o. patient presented with mobility 2 and shortening on his mandibular incisors. These were displaced facial and on an edge to edge relation due to parafunctional habits over his life (Fig. 1)
Prior to extractions, a CBCT and wax-up was performed. Teeth were extracted in a flapless modality (Fig. 2) and two Neoss proactive surface were inserted using the interim partial denture as surgical guide (Fig. 3,4 & 5). The patient used the interim RPD for a period of 12 weeks for healing. Healing abutments were placed at the time of implant placement to avoid reentry.
Two impression copings were then placed at platform level for an open tray technique (Fig. 6). The design of the fixed implant supported prosthesis was done using Zirkonzahn CAD/CAM technology and scanning NeoLink abutments (Fig. 7, 8 & 9).
This frame was designed for cementation to the NeoLink abutments with a resin cement and was stained prior to sintering the zirconia. This design also allows for screw retrievability since the implants were placed on the lingual aspect of the lateral incisors (Fig. 10 & 11). The final prosthesis was then cemented to the NeoLinks (Fig. 12 & 13) and screwed into place at 32 Ncm torque.
Access entries were then closed with composite material. (Fig. 14, 15 & 16). This case illustrates the integration of the surgical and prosthetic excellent design in the Neoss Implant System. Passivity of fixed implant prosthetics can be accomplished with the use of the NeoLink and resin cements.
