Manwin Demands ICM Prevent .XXX Exploitation

Tuesday, Jul 5, 2011

LUXEMBOURG - Manwin, one of the largest players in the online adult arena, has demanded that ICM Registry block attempts to register any of its 57 domain names or similar misleading names in the .XXX sponsored top-level domain.Manwin alternatively asked ICM to register each of its 57 domain names as .XXX domains without any registration, processing or administrative fee or charge.

In a letter to ICM CEO Stuart Lawley, Manwin said that each of their preexisting domain names and trademarks have been "clearly communicated" and that the company must "take steps to block any attempts to register any of them, or any similar misleading names in the XXX TLD."

"From a technical and administrative standpoint, entering our trademarks and obvious similarities into some kind of a blacklist maintained by ICM Registry is a very simple process," said Fabian Thylmann, managing partner at Manwin.

Manwin, which owns numerous blue-chip online adult franchises, including Brazzers, Twistys, YouPorn and others, said that registration of its domain names without its consent "will constitute a violation of Manwin's rights."

"The misuse of our intellectual property will not be tolerated," Thylmann said.

Manwin said that it believes "that the onus is on ICM to honor and protect the rights of the adult content industry in their domain names and hopes that ICM will act responsibly to do so."

Diane Duke, executive director of the Free Speech Coalition, told XBIZ she expects more adult companies to follow Manwin's iniative with ICM.

"It is absurd that ICM expects adult businesses to pay ICM not to violate their trademarks," she said. "ICM has been put on notice."

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands-Organizers of the Dutch Webmaster Meeting have announced that their Sept. 16 show in Amsterdam will restrict commercial photography at the event. Only recognized photographers like JFK from Fubar Webmasters, the official Webmaster Meeting photographer, and Baddog will be allowed to take pictures.

"This rule has become effective because visitors at the YNOT Summit [were] unhappily surprised that NALEM made pictures that where sponsored by ICM Registry's .XXX domains," the organizers said in a prepared statement. "A lot of people disliked that and felt uncomfortable. To make the visitors of the Dutch Webmaster Meeting feel comfortable and won't get a stiff middle finger when showing their feeling towards .XXX, commercial photographing is prohibited. Of course, .XXX people attend the shows and are welcome, but we don't want visitors that have a strong feeling against .xxx that will be used on pictures... promoting .xxx domains."

The Dutch Webmaster Meeting is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 16 in Amsterdam, in cooperation with Webmaster Access, which takes place September 16-19.

ASACP Names Tim Henning as Executive Director

LOS ANGELES (June 22, 2011) - The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is pleased to announce the appointment of digital forensics expert Tim Henning as its new Executive Director.

Henning, who has been a vital part of the association for the past 15 years, is poised to build on the association's strengths to continue its adult industry leadership role into the future. Henning will assume his new role effective immediately.

"It was 1996 when ASACP was founded and I began my service to the, at the time, grassroots organization," Henning stated. "Since then I have seen many evolutions, faced many challenges and it has been my honor to realize the achievement of many goals that have greatly benefitted both child protection efforts, and the online adult entertainment industry."

"I am very excited to lead ASACP into the future and navigate the challenges that lay ahead while continuing to grow and expand our efforts," Henning added. "ASACP is something for all of us to be proud of, standing as the world's only child protection organization funded by the adult entertainment industry."

"I want to personally thank all who have supported ASACP past, present and future," Henning concluded. "It is you who have, and will continue to make, the impossible, possible."

Henning's first task as ASACP's Executive Director will be to attend the YNOT Summit in San Francisco, where he will spread the latest news about what the association is doing today to help companies within the adult entertainment industry protect their businesses by helping to protect children from age-inappropriate content on the Internet. As a measure of support, the promoters of the YNOT Summit have underwritten Henning's attendance.

About ASACP

Founded in 1996, ASACP is a non-profit organization dedicated to online child protection.
ASACP is comprised of two separate corporate entities, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection and the ASACP Foundation. The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization. ASACP manages a membership program that provides resources to companies in order to help them protect children online. The ASACP Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The ASACP Foundation battles child pornography through its CP Reporting Hotline and helps parents prevent children from viewing age-inappropriate material online with its Restricted To Adults (RTA) website label (www.rtalabel.org). ASACP has invested nearly 15 years in developing progressive programs to protect children, and its relationship in assisting the adult industry's child protection efforts is unparalleled. PRESS RELEASE

REPORO: THE MOBILE AD DOMINATOR

Ben Keirle, the Global Publishing Manager of Reporo has recently explained in an interview with John Stuart for Xbiz World Magazine April edition, how Reporo, the Mobile Adult Ad Network, has taken off. Xbiz labelled Reporo, "The Mobile Ad Dominator".

Reporo started its incredible ascension 15 months ago being a mobile social media network and generating 30 million ad impressions per month over its own sites. In a very quick turnaround, it has now become an adult advertising ad network generating close to 3.5 billion mobile ad impressions last month.

"Our goal is to hit 4 billion by the middle of this year, and there is no reason why we shouldn't make it." said Ben Keirle. The reason for this incredible growth is that Reporo filled a virtual vacuum for a mobile advertising network. "For example," says Keirle, "somebody may be set up in the U.S. with a mobile site that gets traffic from the U.K., Australia and South Africa as well as the U.S. and Canada. This publisher is not in a position to find advertisers that are targeting their particular profile of traffic in all those territories. Selling directly is an arduous task and probably  quite an expensive one. Reporo bridges the gap for those publishers. If a page is served in the UK for example, we'll serve it with ads from advertisers who are looking to target that particular profile of traffic. For advertisers, we offer them a one-stop shop where they come to us and simply make a bid for a certain profile traffic"

Reporo keeps innovating. It is now offering a special introductory deal in which it allows new clients to keep all of the gross revenues from their inventory sales of the first month, before getting the 60 percent share thereafter. Moreover, Reporo has recently introduced its Turbo Redirect Model.  Keirle explains. "Between 4-to-9 percent on average of all websites now are being accessed from a hand-held device. That means up to 90,000 of each million visitors come from a mobile device and if you don't have a mobile optimized website, you can't make money from those people...Through our Turbo Redirect Model we have advertisers all over the world, so we redirect, according to their [visitors'] geographic location and according to their handsets, to the advertisers that want that traffic and that convert it at the lowest possible ratio and at the highest possible price. So instead of redirecting their mobile traffic to an affiliate campaign, Reporo effectively becomes the affiliate campaign. But we pay them per redirect." This has proven to pay as much as 3 times that any other affiliate or flat fee payment in Europe and US. Both business models allow publishers to be paid on a revenue share of CPC's or flat fee per week/month.

Fabulous Shrimp Lover's Appetizer

So keeping in line with the 'simple is best' mode of cooking here is how we like to have our shrimp... This is one is wonderful with fresh shrimp but can be made equally well with frozen...saute some garlic with a little butter in a large deep pan,add the shrimp ( however many you are hungry for) and saute, add a pinch of salt just enough for taste (since there is enough already in the butter and shrimp) along with some pepper... add some white wine and simmer... now add some cream and continue simmering for a few minutes... serve with a fresh baguette... very yummy and depending on how much you make it can be enough on it's own ... but is always a good start to a great meal of steak and grilled asparagus... mmmm good eating

HOUSTON-Adult online industry veteran Rochard has joined YNOT Group LLC to handle sales and support for the company's technology products. His first project will be YNOT Mail, a powerful combination of email marketing software and performance-enhancing services and technologies designed to increase deliverability while protecting companies' reputations with internet service providers. YNOT Mail incorporates everything adult businesses need to plan, test, maintain and track effective email marketing campaigns.

Rochard began his 15-year career in adult as designer, developer and content producer for his own solo-girl site. After that, he directed operations at Lightspeed Cash for more than six years before working for Yanks Cash, Playboy and CherryPimps.

"I've done it all, from shooting content to HTML to putting up websites to marketing, customer support, affiliate management and hosting issues," he said. "For the past two years I've been running and building blog networks for myself and a handful of other companies."

A former U.S. Marine, Rochard has adopted no-nonsense opinions about almost everything. The recent travails of the adult entertainment industry are no exception.

"I really think our industry is in the perfect storm: a bad combination of the overall economy, tubes and mainstream sites such as Facebook and YouTube sucking down vast majorities of all internet traffic," he said. "Our industry used to lead the way with innovation, and we've stopped. We need to get back to that again."

YNOT Group President Connor Young praised not only Rochard's perspective, but also his experience.

"When you have a chance to bring someone like Rochard on board, you find a way to make it happen," Young said. "You're talking about someone who has an incredible mix of experience in our specific industry combined with an unbeatable work ethic and a broad understanding of not just the industry, but the internet as well. He will be a very valuable asset to YNOT, and we are thrilled that he has agreed to take charge of YNOT Mail and future YNOT technology products."

In addition to YNOTMail.com, YNOT Group also owns and operates the venerable YNOT.com news, education and resources site; YNOTeurope.com, YNOT.com's sister publication devoted to the European market; and the YNOT Grand Prix webmaster kart-racing series. The company will present the first YNOT Awards in September, and YNOTMarket.com -a place to buy, sell and trade adult-related domains-will launch this summer.
