ICM REGISTRY ANNOUNCES EXTENSION OF FOUNDERS PROGRAM AND EXPANSION OF THE SALES AND MARKETING TEAM FOR .XXX DOMAINS

Palm BeachGardens, Fl. -

ICM Registry is pleased to announce the extension of its Founders Program, which gives priority registration .XXX domains to leading members of the sponsored adult entertainment community. Qualified businesses and individuals who are interested should immediately contact ICM at founders@icmregistry.com. By participating in the Founders Program, Sponsored Community members can secure premium generic domains plus their existing portfolio that they wish to develop in .XXX. The Founders Program will continue through July 31, 2011.  However, there will be a limited number of founders and domains are being allocated on a first come, first served basis to qualifying applicants. ICM has already executed numerous Founders contracts from leading companies that will be announced shortly. We anticipate that the program will be limited to 50 participants. Full details can be found at www.icmregistry.com/founder/ and all inquiries are always confidential.

ICM is also please to announce the latest members of its sales and marketing team that will be assisting applicants for the Founders Program. They will also be reaching out to the Sponsored Community ahead of the launch of the Sunrise and Landrush periods scheduled for the beginning of September.

Chris Lebrun has joined ICM to focus on North American clients.  "We are very excited to have Chris on the team.  I've admired his professionalism and sales skills since he was at AVN and Leisure Time.  He has a stellar reputation and strong work ethic." says Greg Dumas of ICM.

In addition, ICM has added Mark Harrison formerly of Dating Factory as the Manager of European Operations.  Mark joins Claudio Menegatti, a well-known figure in the adult industry to focus on the European markets.  For the Brazilian market, ICM has added Tony Schehtman who brings invaluable experience and knowledge of this vast and mostly untapped market.

The team is rounded out with Pete Housley of The Naughty Tweet Network to focus in adult industry marketing with an emphasis in social media. Dumas adds, "Without a focus on social media and targeted adult marketing and advertising, the launch of .XXX will miss many possible participants.  ICM found the best person to get this done with Pete and I look forward to working with him."

ICM is a major sponsor of Eurowebtainment in Majorca on May 18 - 20 and will be available there to answer any questions about .XXX domains including the Founders Program.  In addition, Exxxotica in Miami welcomes ICM as a major sponsor. ICM invites everyone to join us there to discuss .XXX opportunities and how to get the maximum benefit from .XXX domains.

Short memories about .XXX and dealing with the present

as seen on GFY.com

Everyone keeps saying that nobody spoke up. It's just not true, ICANN didn't listen or seriously review recent or historical commentary. I feel the same today as I did 5 years ago (below). Difference is, today my statement would cover about 75,000 hosted adult web sites and more than 700 adult companies from around the world. Out of my client list today, in total perhaps a handful of clients (to my surprise) who are in favor.

Fast forward to the present. Life has moved forward, what was speculation has become part of our new reality. In the history of adult, many different events have themselves represented a paradigm shift and "moving of the carrot":

- Pay per click to rev share
- Rev share to pay per sign-up
- Cross-selling and blind cross-selling
- Picture posts to movie posts with 10-30 second clips
- Movie posts to tube sites
- Rampant copyright infringement, clips and full movies
- Bandwidth from $100+ megabit to "dollars" each (opportunity)
- Effective pop-up blocking
- ACACIA patent (finally defeated)
- mobile saturation
...and now, I guess .XXX

Our industry has much in common with the shark, crocodile... cockroach. It persists and adapts to changes in the global environment. Despite having lemons thrown at us, I am confident in our overall ability to make lemonade out of each and every situation. I encourage everyone to keep working hard, investing in their business, adapting to change as they see fit. Let your future business decisions be driven by whatever drives you, whether that is creativity, ethics, morals, technology, trademark, copyright. If you can afford the time and money to do it, speak up and be heard when you have something to say. Protect your intellectual property and trademark(s).

It may come to pass that this TLD attains no special SEO treatment or introduces any new legal dilemmas. It stands to reason that whatever volume of land rush, speculated domains with weak content as landing pages won't stick or be meaningful to surfers. If all that becomes the case, business would be very much unaffected. Hopefully, only leaving opportunity for new development.. a level playing field for words and phrases that are not trademarked and start from 0 with their traffic.

One thing is likely certain - those who choose to try and squat on, develop or hold hostage existing trademarks will likely learn some hard lessons. I wish everyone the best of luck with their endeavors. This is just another curve ball, very likely (I hope) something to assimilate into the marketplace without "worst case" "end of times" disruption that is feared by many.

Sincerely,

Brad Mitchell

Subject: MojoHost and 10,000+ Adult Sites Say "NO!" to .XXX Proposal
From: "Brad Mitchell" <brad@xxxxxxxxxxxx>
Date: Tue, 9 May 2006 17:47:43 -0400

To Whom it May Concern,

On behalf of MojoHost and the over 10,000 adult web sites that our clients
entrust to our care we would like to voice our objection to the proposed
.XXX top level domain. This proposed top level domain does not serve the
interests of the public, our clientele, the European Union, Australian
Government or even United States based religious interest groups. We
believe that this proposal represents profiteering in it's purest form and
that it does so at a significant cost to the liberties and livelihoods of
tens thousands of honest business people. Beyond all of that, as a parent
and a technically skilled professional I truly believe that a new top level
domain will do NOTHING to protect children.

Regardless of how the mainstream press may portray the adult internet, the
reality is that our industry does more to regulate and police itself than
any other sector online. We believe that the creation of a new .XXX top
level domain is unnecessary, unjust and unenforceable and sincerely hope
that ICANN takes the matter seriously enough to evaluate all of these
concerns and come to the same conclusion that the adult industry has - that
.XXX is a horrible idea. There are already systems in place such as ICRA
that the largest adult sites with the most traffic have already implemented,
the rest is up to responsible parenting.

With seven years of business ownership and professional involvement with the
online adult internet I can sincerely say that the entire community shares
the same desire, stopping .XXX

Sincerely,

Brad Mitchell

ICM, IFFOR and Irvine
by Baddog of PimpsPromo

A couple of weeks ago, it was announced that Joan Irvine, the Executive Director of the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP), was stepping down from her position with ASACP to take on the position as Executive Director of the International Foundation for Online Responsibility (IFFOR). I will admit, when I first read this news my initial thoughts were [in order] no way, bullshit, maybe this is the logical choice.

Naturally, on GFY, people were up in arms. Just as naturally, most of those complaining had done nothing about defeating the implementation of the .xxx sTLD. Even more clamor was raised by those that are never going to be affected by .xxx. The mob mentality was rampant. People that really have no clue what the issues are jumped on the bandwagon, presuming that the GFY crusader(s) knew something more than they did. A lot of speculation and theorizing made up most of the arguments.

Since I have some of the loudest of the mob leaders on ignore, I did not read all the claims made. If it was not for the fact that I received emails apologizing for getting me involved, along with Twitter and Facebook messages suggesting that for some reason I had to be involved in some way, I would not even be writing this article. Luckily, I am in the position of not caring if someone does not approve of my thoughts on the matter. Rather than have my thoughts buried by trolls, I have decided to put them here.

First off, PimpsPromo has been a corporate sponsor of ASACP since the beginning of 2011. I personally have supported ASACP for many years both financially and on webmaster forums, and continue to do so. Even though I believe .xxx will never be a personal issue for me, I was against its implementation. That is a moot matter at this point, it is here. I know Stuart Lawley is a liar, as he lied to my face and I have called him on it. I have been involved with this issue since 2007 and there is plenty of evidence to support these assertions. I like Joan Irvine, and have spoken with her in depth regarding ASACP and .xxx. I had to know I wanted to be a sponsor before I was about to commit this site to its promotion.

It is due to these conversations, that I came to the earlier mentioned conclusion that "maybe this is the logical choice." Anyone that has spent time with Irvine has to admit that she has been very passionate about her job. She is about the welfare of exploited children. I am sure she cares about little Judy, the honor student from Redondo Beach as well, hence RTA, but ASACP is more concerned with child pornography. Irvine is pro-adult industry. Her entire career has been spent telling people that the adult industry is not the ones putting child pornography out on the Internet. There is no question in my mind that she has always had our back in the past. I highly doubt she is going to suddenly change her entire ideology overnight.

We have to accept the fact that .xxx passed. No arguments that I have seen seem to indicate otherwise. As part of the agreement, with .xxx comes IFFOR. So, what is IFFOR? From the IFFOR home page, "IFFOR Charter: The .xxx TLD is intended to primarily serve the needs of the global responsible online adult-entertainment community." Among the tasks listed, they promote the development of responsible business practices, encourage the adoption of the .xxx and promote the development of business practices to safeguard children online and combat child abuse and child abuse images. There are other things listed, but I feel these are the most worth discussion. You can read everything on their website. But let us start with these four issues.

IFFOR is supposed to serve the needs of the "responsible online" community. One might argue that their only duty is to .xxx domain holders or their stockholders. If we did not have someone on the IFFOR policy council that realized that adult webmasters are responsible, there is a great chance that we would end up with a council that felt that adult webmasters and their websites are the bane of society. With Irvine as the executive director, we have at least one person on our side.

IFFOR will promote the development of responsible business practices. In other words, IFFOR will set policy for .xxx. Again, you are going to have a difficult time convincing me that we do not need someone that knows the adult industry, and has been involved in developing responsible business practices for adult. ASACP and RTA are great examples of responsible business practices.

IFFOR will encourage the adoption of the use of .xxx. I guess that goes without saying. So what? Just do not buy into the hype and do not purchase a .xxx domain. If someone tries to hijack your .com, there are policies in place to protect you. Until such time that it becomes mandatory, just do not buy .xxx. I looked over most of the IFFOR website and I could not find anywhere that suggested they were given the task of securing mandatory use of .xxx.

IFFOR will promote the development of business practices to safeguard children online and combat child abuse and child abuse images. If you know someone better suited for this particular task than Joan Irvine, I am all ears.

It comes down to this, .xxx is here. IFFOR is here. Someone has to be the leader. I would rather have someone that is adult friendly over some teabagger or wannabe trying to break into the political arena by taking on the task of "saving the children." If you feel Joan Irvine is going to do the adult community wrong with her position at IFFOR, they are currently accepting nominations for the Policy Committee. Nominate yourself. If you want, contact me and I will nominate you. Whining on the boards or blogging that Joan Irvine is a sellout accomplishes nothing. If you sat on the sidelines up until now, maybe it is time to get involved . . . if you really care.

This is my position regarding Joan Irvine's decision to leave ASACP and go to IFFOR. I believe in Irvine. If I calculated the amount of time I have spent with Irvine and talked about ASACP, RTA, child exploitation and .xxx it would be double digits. I refuse to believe that I can spend that much time with someone, looking into their eyes as we spoke, and believe that all this time she was lying to me. Not going to happen. Until such time that I have reason to believe otherwise, I will continue to believe her. If it turns out I was duped, I promise, I will admit it make a public statement that I can no longer judge a person's character to save my life.

I will end this by addressing a couple other accusations I keep seeing thrown around. The first is that ASACP gets $10 for every .xxx domain registered. I asked Irvine about this allegation during one of our meetings. As I recall, she laughed at the idea but admitted that there was no way she or ASACP would ever turn down an offer like that. The only problem is, that was never offered. ICM promised ICANN that it "will donate $10 per year per registration to fund IFFOR's policy development activities and to provide financial support for the work of online safety organizations, child pornography hotlines, and to sponsor the development of tools and technology to promote child safety and fight child pornography." Anyone that reads ASACP anywhere in that is really reaching. Yes, I think it is safe to say that ASACP would have gotten some of those funds whether Irvine was executive director or not. I like to think ASACP might get more funding now that she is there. They can certainly use it.

I saw another allegation that an XBIZ poll was cited as a proof of community support of .xxx. People thought it was inconceivable that members of two different adult webmaster forums could have different opinions. I can only suggest that anyone that thinks attitudes on XBIZ are the same as on GFY has obviously never spent much time at XBIZ. I was a moderator at XBIZ since before it was called XBIZ. I can assure you, they have never been similar. It would surprise me more if an XBIZ poll reflected the attitude of GFY members. It may surprise them to learn that threads on GFY were also cited as examples of community support.

In closing, those that know me, know I do not kowtow to anyone. I have publicly called out XBIZ, ASACP, Alec Helmy, Stuart Lawley, JohnnyV and Joan Irvine. I have spoken in depth to Irvine and JohnnyV. I play no favorites. That being said, if anyone would like to submit an intelligent, legible rebuttal I will post it here. I do not have to agree with it. If it is accurate, and on topic, I will post it. Just contact me.

Just Another Four Letter Word

by Mata Hari Mary

So my hubby had been talking about trying this product called 'Nads' to remove the hair on his back. I have seen it on late night infomercials and I knew it was similar to waxing but, he didn't seem to grasp that concept. To him it was going to be the save all for his ever more dense by the year, back hair problems. To me it was just a funny name for something most likely to inflict pain.

We were out running errands in the Arizona heat yesterday like any sane person would be and we happen to stop in a Walgreens. Actually hubby spotted a Walgreens as we passed it. The fact that we were going the wrong way was merely a small challenge to any man in a 4 wheel drive SUV. One dusty field and a curb hop later and we were on the hunt for the ever elusive 'Nads'.

I was the first to spot it on the very bottom shelf of the Skin Care aisle. I ran through the store waiving it like Charlie with the Golden ticket. I found it! I found it! Woohoo! $40 and one cash register trainee later and we were on our way home with our newly acquired bundle of 'Nads'.

We giddily opened the box curious to see what 'Nads' was all about. Inside we found an instruction booklet, a CD, two bottles of soothing lotion (here's your sign), a plastic spatula, a bar of Kiwi soap, cloth strips and nestled at the bottom of the box, gently surrounded by styrofoam, we found our 'Nads'. We opened the jar and found this innocent looking goo of sorts almost the consistency of cold honey and shimmery green in color. I grabbed the CD and the instruction booklet and headed for the computer to learn all I could about the proper way to use our 'Nads'. The instructions seemed simple enough and the people in the videos on the CD seemed to be almost enjoying having the hair ripped from their flesh. One even said it felt like getting a massage. That was good enough for me. I was pumped up. I was ready. Gentlemen, lend me your backs! There is no follicle so tough that it cannot be tamed with a little 'Nads'. I grabbed hubby and told him to meet me upstairs. For the first time a look of fear stole across his face. "You are just a little too excited about this," he said to me. "Are you sure this is going to be ok?" "Piece of cake" was my reply.

Upstairs in our bathroom, I scrubbed his back with the kiwi soap then patted it dry paying close attention to all the directions the hair grew. I opened the 'Nads' and eagerly stabbed it with the spatula, stirred it up a bit and got a healthy glob of it ready to go. I opened the package of cloth strips and it was then that Hubby had a moment of clarity. "Cloth strips? Isn't that what they use for waxing?", his eyes getting wider with each syllable. "Um, yes but, don't worry. This is supposed to be like getting a massage". I was a woman on a mission. There was hair to be removed and me and my trusty 'Nads' were on the job. Nothing was going to stop us now.

I spread the gob of goo across the first patch of hair and noticed Hubby's nails were becoming one with the counter. "It's ok." I said cooingly. "Just a few patches and it will all be over with." And then I said the words I would live to regret. "If it will make you feel better, I plan on doing my upper lip, chin and sideburns when I am done with you." The words just came spewing from my mouth like some ancient volcano gone wild. I grabbed a cloth strip, placed it on the 'Nads', rubbed over it three times like the instructions had said to do, then grabbed an end, gritted my teeth and yanked. As the strip came off I didn't hear any noise coming from Hubby so I assumed all was well. I was busy inspecting the cloth to see how much of the hair 'Nads' and I had grabbed when I looked up at the mirror. There I see the reflection of what was once Hubby's face but, is now a contorted, red blob with bulging eyes and a mouth frozen open in a silent scream. "Did that hurt?" I innocently asked as if I had suddenly lost my eyesight. "YESSSSSS!" the thing in the mirror hissed back at me. At this point I was rethinking my earlier comment and wondering how I was going to get out of purposely torturing my poor face. Surely he won't want me to keep going. Surely he will tell me to stop. If he can't take it there is no way he is going to expect me to inflict this kind of pain on myself. I moved down the counter toward the box with the intention of packing it all up and taking it back to Walgreens when Hubby stopped me and told me to keep going. "You can't be serious" I asked. Yes, yes he was. He was a man. He was as much a man on a mission now as I had been a woman on a mission earlier. He had wanted his 'Nads' and he found it. He was not backing out now no matter how much skin he lost. So here we went, me applying and ripping. Him making those silent scream faces.

Almost an eternity and half our 'Nads' later and his back was as smooth as a baby's butt. It was as red as one too and he had lost all feeling but, I had completed my mission. I was happy. I felt fulfilled. I had risen to the challenge of the back hair and won. It was then that he turned to me and said "Your turn". I mustered up all the courage I could find then waited until he was in the shower in case I couldn't go through with it and had to make my escape. I figured I would start small so I started with my chin. Small glob of goo. Cloth strip. Rub rub rub. Close my eyes. Grab the end and yank! As my bottom teeth came violently crashing into my upper teeth I realized I forgot to close my mouth. This was probably a good thing since the reverberations the jolt sent through my spine were enough to numb me for a few seconds. Ok. Not too bad. I can still breathe, no cracked teeth so, let's go for a sideburn. I put my hair in a ponytail and spread 'Nads' from my hairline to my jawline on my right side. I put the cloth on top and as I grabbed a hold of it I gave it a gentle tug just to see how securely it was on there. The entire right side of my face moved up to my ear. This would have been fine if I were looking for a face-lift solution however, it was not reassuring for removing hair. I closed my eyes, said a prayer and remembering to close my mouth this time, pulled that cloth strip with all my might. I came to a minute later hovering over the counter with the cloth strip in a death grip in my hand. The only thing that kept me from hitting the floor was the fact I had pulled that strip so hard that my hand kept flying forward and my 'Nads' had stuck to the mirror.

Somehow I managed to get the second sideburn and upper lip done. I can't tell you how because I honestly do not remember. After the pain subsided I was amazed at how smooth my skin was and delighted that my menopausal facial hair was no more. That was until all the itchy, red, pimply looking bumps started. My only comfort is the fact that Hubby has them too. As I sit here writing this with a face that resembles a pubescent teenager I can tell you that both Hubby and I have proved our relationship can withstand anything. But the next time we take a detour through a field to get to a Walgreens, I am opening the door and jumping.
