E.E. Reed Construction Turns 35 Years Old!

Mr. E.E. "Gene" Reed founded E.E. Reed Construction Company on February 1, 1977.  With employee number 1 still working at the company, it's easy to say E.E. Reed is proud of its history, tradition, and integrity.  "Understood from the inside out, our industry is all about relationships.  It's about promises made and promises kept, and the bonds that develop over time," says

Mr. Reed.  Here's to the next 35 Years!

Beltway Crossing Phase II Underway

As the economy improves, more and more projects begin!

E.E. Reed was recently awarded the industrial project-Beltway Crossing Phase II in Missouri City, TX.  Developed by Stream Realty, this 208,000 aggregate-square-foot project adds two more buildings to the Beltway Crossing Industrial Park.  Completing the park,  Building 3 will be a 116,480 cross-dock facility and Building 4  a 91,520 front-load warehouse.  The tilt-wall, speculative warehouses were designed by Powers Brown Architecture , who also designed Buildings 1 and 2.

The E.E. Reed Interiors Team recently began a four-floor complete demolition and renovation in the former Cabot Oil & Gas space located on Enclave Parkway.  This 105,000 square foot interiors project designed by Ziegler Cooper Architects is on a tight 3-month schedule, but E.E. Reed Senior Project Manager David Zebold and Superintendent Scott Wingard have it under control!

E.E. Reed actually built the building in 1998 for the Dienna  Nelson Augustine  Company as a Build-to-Suit.  It received an Excellence in Construction Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors, as well as a Legacy Award Honoree Award from the Houston Business Journal.

2012 Brings Big Changes to

E.E. Reed Headquarters

Office Remodel

To start the year "anew," with a new attitude and outlook,

E.E. Reed Construction underwent a minor office update over the holidays.   The corporate headquarters building in Sugar Land, TX, was  built and designed by Kirksey over 14 years ago and had never been updated.  The interiors team at Kirksey was a big help in guiding E.E. Reed through the process of re-energizing the space.  Now, there's a fresh coat of paint on the wall, new carpet, energy-efficient lighting, a few aesthetic updates and, of course, after 14 years, some technology improvements!

Thank you to those who worked through the holidays to make this happen, you know who you are!

E.E. Reed Construction Speaks at
WCA Luncheon

WCA Luncheon

E.E. Reed Construction was recently asked to speak at the Women Contractors Association monthly luncheon.  The topic?  "E.E. Reed's 35 Year Story--Surviving the Economy."  Mr. Reed made it clear that Houston's economy is and will always be based on the price of oil; however, two other components also affect development.  First, money--where to get it and how to get it.  Second, government intervention and the constraints it puts on developers.  Throughout Mr. Reed's 52 years in construction these three elements continue to dictate development.  Mark Reed ended the speech discussing "What E.E. Reed is Doing Now", which is a LOT these days!  WCA honored Mr. Reed with a BRIGHT PINK hardhat.  We are all waiting to see him wear it on a jobsite!

WCA is a non-profit organization composed of women owners and decision-making executives within or ancillary to the construction industry.   Their informative monthly meetings provide networking opportunities and valuable information specific to the construction industry and the small business owner.
