Spotlight: Fordham University
Logo of Fordham UniversityInnovative Document Imaging recently completed the digitization of over 90 years worth of student newspapers at Fordham University and a large yearbook digitization project at Fordham Prep, the university's on-campus high school. Noting the importance of digitization to the preservation and accessibility of Fordham's collections, Patrice Kane, Head of Archives and Special Collections at the university's Walsh Library, commented: "Our [student] newspapers are packed with so much history and now you can do a keyword search and zoom in on specific academic or sports events. The development office particularly enjoys the convenience of searching from their desks." Service was personable and efficient, noted Kane. "We enjoyed working with IDI, turn around time has been quite rapid."
Innovative Solutions: New Partnership

Image Document Conversion LogoIDI is now partnered with Michigan-based Image Data Conversion, a leader in content conversion and preservation. "Our investment in IDC will allow us to offer a number of new services to our clients," notes Marty Tannenbaum, President of Innovative Document Imaging. Joe Mills, IDC's Managing Director, adds that "our new found relationship makes us both stronger, creating an environment for accelerated growth." Working with IDC, Innovative Document Imaging can now offer library customers even larger format scanning of books 5"-6" thick. IDC will now offer competitively priced grayscale film scanning through IDI's NextScan capabilities. "This is a great fit for our companies; we are really excited about the potential for our customers," says Tannenbaum.

At Your Service: Library Document Collection
IDI's Personal Digital Imaging Service will hold its first on-site information session and document collection event at New Jersey's Longbranch Public Library in April. This program allows individuals to preserve valuable personal collections of print, photographic and a/v materials with the same professional quality imaging once exclusive to institutions. Ten percent of all proceeds from the program are credited back to sponsoring libraries. To learn more, please visit idiimage.com/digitization, or contact Marty Tannenbaum, (800) 380-9058.
