1. Fring
Just because you've gone off to a new school doesn't mean you have to be out of the loop. What's the best way to stay connected with your family and friends that you've left behind? A regular phone call is great, but it doesn't get much better than a video call. Like Skype, Fring is a great platform for video calls and VoIP calls. AndroidStudyBuddy
Your Study Buddy Android

AndroidTrue or False: Being a student is tough work. False! At least not with handy Android devices and apps. When students need to study, take notes, write papers and pass the grade, consider Android your new study buddy.

Consider CoursePro. This handy app allows you to track your homework, assignments, school projects, and grades. Are your grades are slipping? You can reach for your StudyDroid - a study tool for your Android device. It puts your flashcards right on your Android phone to help you study your way to success.

Imagine not having to carry (or buy) those huge, bulky textbooks! Paper textbooks? That's a thing of the past. Aldiko is an eBook reader that is about as convenient as carrying your textbooks in your pocket. It will give you access to libraries of popular textbook publishers.

Capture your ideas and experiences in text, voice, images, and locations with Catch Notes While you keep them in your pocket, be sure to store them away with Android SMS Backup. This app allows you to back your SMS card up to your Gmail. Not sure you'll remember to backup your creations? Use Remember the Milk, a to-do list and task tracking system that is simple and easy to use.
