Spring into Gardening !
An annual rite of spring, Historic Poplar Grove Plantation offers anything and everything for the nature lover. As always, the fair this year will offer the BEST of local plants from top notch growers. You'll find organic herb plants, edible flower plants, bonzais, bedding plants, native trees and topiaries. Once you've found your groovy greens, complete your garden shopping with organic fertilizer, landscape edging, a one-of-a-kind bird bath, a butterfly house, and a hand crafted lawn chair. Then, pick up some herbal soap to wash up with, a packet of spice tea for a nice beverage and a slice of rum cake as a delicious reward to enjoy while you relax in the beautiful environment you've created. Poplar Grove's Herb and Garden Fair has it ALL.
Interested in learning more about natural gardening or fresh cooking? There are seven fun, educational classes to choose from, taught by experts like Meg Shelton of Shelton Herb Farms. At 9:00am Saturday, Audubon Education Director and Author, Andy Wood leads an informative bird hike through beautiful Abbey Nature Preserve, a peaceful way to begin the day.
Come on out to the old plantation, it's time to spring into gardening! |
