WOOL N' WOOD SHOW
 Presented by
 The Cape Fear Rug Hookers
The Cape Fear Wood Carvers
Wilmington Area Woodturners
8:00AM to 100PM

It's talent on display opening day! Be sure to visit the Wool 'n Wood Show in the Cultural Arts Center.  The Cape Fear Rug Hookers, Cape Fear Woodcarvers and Wilmington Area Woodturners share their craftsmanship in beautiful displays and live demonstrations.

Wilmington Area Woodturners will be using a modern lathe, a1700's spring pole lathe and a shave horse to show how they bring beauty out of natural wood.  Visitors will love the working replica of an 1850's woodturning shop, it's amazing.

There are many exquisite artists that call the plantation home and there is no better proof than the hand-carved sea-life, animals, flowers and whimsical characters created by the Cape Fear Woodcarvers.  Generous members share techniques and tips for bringing wood to life in live demonstrations throughout the morning.

With strips of wool, a hook and a creative heart artist-members of the Cape Fear Rug Hookers offer an amazing and colorful body of prize winning work.  Taking inspiration from all aspects of life, you'll find images of pets, people and landscapes covering the walls inside the Cultural Arts Center.  Members demonstrate and offer words of wool-dom about supplies, equipment and techniques.

Free admission.  It only happens once a year so, be sure to see the show before or after you shop!
