SB 375 Discussion and Training
On Thursday, November 18, Public Health Law & Policy (PHLP) and Housing California will host a discussion and training session on SB 375, the landmark land use planning act.The event will feature public health practitioners, affordable housing advocates, environmental justice and social justice coalition members, and others who are interested in learning more about this groundbreaking law. Fresh Producers Seeks Youth Coordinator
Fresh Producers is seeking applicants for a Youth Coordinator. Its program engages young people in creating and managing fresh food distribution outlets at existing neighborhood facilities to promote healthier eating. The coordinator will create fundraising/income/ scholarship opportunities and develop business and workforce skills through real world experience. Is McDonald's Moving In?
On November 10th at 6:00pm, the Oak Park Redevelopment Advisory Committee will discuss the proposed development of a McDonald's restaurant at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Stockton Boulevard. The event will take place at the Oak Park Neighborhood Center. Please come out and voice your opinion about the placement of unhealthy food sources in our communities. Ubuntu Green Welcomes Newest Board Member!
Ubuntu Green is proud to announce that Anya Lawler has joined its Board of Directors. Anya has been a valuable asset to Ubuntu Green from its beginning, serving as a charter member of the Advisory Council. She brings a wealth of policy experience, having served in the Governor's Office of Planning and Research under Gray Davis, and currently is a consultant for the Assembly Housing and Community Development Committee.We are fortunate to have Anya on our team!

Staff Associate Position Filled
We are pleased to welcome our new part-time Staff Associate, Isabel Maioriello-Gallus. Isabel hails from the Washington, D.C. area and attended the New College of Florida where she recently graduated. She has a history of volunteerism, youth outreach, and environmental activism. Her college years were spent working with local non-profits, including the local public radio station doing communications and volunteer engagement. |
