RT is holding a public hearing today to discuss the pending cuts.  Please email RT today before 5:00 p.m. and stress that they minimize the impact of their budget on low-income and working families who depend on public transit.

The Sacramento Yard Farmer designs and installs complete organic home gardening systems using top quality materials and proven techniques that maximize the production of food in small spaces. The Yard Farmers how to maintain their own gardens through all four growing seasons. Ubuntu Green will be partnering with Sacramento Yard Farmer to maximize home garden installations throughout Oak Park and South Sacramento.  The Yard Farmer is a minority owned and operated business.

Oak Park Redevelopment Advisory Commitee
 
In February, Ubuntu Green founder Charles L. Mason, Jr. was appointed to the Oak Park Redevelopment Advisory Commitee by Councilwoman Lauren Hammond.
 
The Oak Park RAC meets quarterly to advise the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency on development projects in the area.

EPA Announces New Support for Sustainable Communities
 
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently announced three steps to support communities' efforts to provide their citizens' with economic opportunity while reducing impacts on the environment.  The actions will encourage state and local government to make their communities more sustainable by strategically aligning their environmental, transportation and housing investments.
