Dear Abundant People,

It's been a wild week with the weather...and things are as busy as ever!  We really have some amazing workshops that are incredibly unique with state of the art instructors...let us know if you have questions on any of them!!  We are working fast and furiously on Pepper Festival and overwhelmed with the help and excitement building around this event.  Tickets are starting to fly out the door...take advantage of early bird pricing before September 13th.  We'll also keep updating our facebook on Chefs, Sponsors, Activities, random fun things and of course the King and Queen as that race heats up.

Once again, we thank you for your support and for allowing us to do this very meaningful work!

The Pittsboro Pepper Festival may sound like it belongs on the list of "Top 10 Strangest Small-town festivals in America," but while it's emphasis on peppers might be a little bit quirky, the growing festival of the Piedmont's local food, beer, and music is truly an all-out celebration of community.

Chef Spotlights...why do they prefer local food?

We've started interviewing the 24 Pepper Chefs as we figure out which peppers they'll use in their Festival recipes.... we've noticed that their birthplace plays a big role in their cooking!  For all the Chefs and their interviews, click here.

We welcome Deep River Clean Water Society
deep river One part of what Abundance does is called:  "Fiscal Sponsorship".  This means that when a similarly aligned organization is getting started, we can act as their non-profit umbrella and help them with accounting, donations and getting off the ground.  We love working with our Partners because it allows us to reach further and they are always just really amazing folks! Deep River Clean Water Society educates the region on the high risks of fracking to our communities, clean water and local food systems. They were co-sponsors of the Fracking Bewareness Event at Fearrington in July, and work closely with Water for NC.
Save the date!  Oct 14 & 15
