HarborWalk Village will recognize Okaloosa County teachers for their dedication and service to the children of our community at the HarborWalk Village's Red, White & Blue Celebration on August 18 at 7 p.m.  All Okaloosa County school teachers are invited to come out to the HarborWalk Village for the special celebration in their honor.  Teachers who attend will have a chance to win Vision Airlines tickets, a getaway at Emerald Grande and a luxury spa package at  The Spa at Emerald Grande.

Okaloosa Superintendent Alexis Tibbetts will be the master of ceremonies at this American Red, White & Blue Celebration. "As a result of these amazing teachers' skills and talents, Okaloosa County schools have been rated number one in the state of Florida over the last several years. The Okaloosa County School District, with 2,000+ teachers, serves over 28,000 students from pre-K to adult education. All of the public schools are fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  After making dramatic learning gains since the state started grading schools, Okaloosa County has consistently achieved an A+ rating and is recognized as one of the top 3 districts in the state.  This year our high school students achieved the highest FCAT scores in science, math and reading out of 67 school districts", explained Tibbetts.
