2nd Annual Mint Julep Woodford Cup Classic Competition

Destin, FL- The festive celebration begins at 12:00 and will feature live music by the locals favorite jam band, Cadillac Willy; a bartender's mint julep competition;  hot spring fashions and the best Derby Hat contest by Hovė Parfumeurs, Ltd. and Sunset Lifestyles.  The party launches into high gear when the famous Kentucky Derby kick's off at 5:00 p.m. 

HarborWalk Village and Premier Beverage are hosting their 2nd Annual Woodford Reserve Cup Classic, a mint julep competition with area bartenders showing their mixology skills with a creative twist on the classic cocktail, the Mint Julep using Woodford Reserve.  Woodford Reserve bourbon is the official spirit of the Kentucky Derby Day Festival at HarborWalk Village.  Last years champion, The Shed, a BBQ and Blues Joint are coming back to defend their title against some stiff competition, top bartenders will compete from over 12 other local venues, including: Mc Guires Irish Pub, Poppy' s Crazy Lobster, Grande Vista Grille. The Grande Prize (Win) is $500.00 in cash and the Woodford Reserve Grande Champion Cup. Prizes will be awarded for 2nd (Place) and 3rd (Show).

There will also be a Kentucky Derby hat contest for children and adults. Prizes will be awarded for the most 'hatrageous' and the best 'classic' Derby hats. Children can make their own hats at the arts and crafts stations and all kids activites are free and open to the public.

Donations from the Kentucky Derby Day Party will benefit the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge, who provides state of the art wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and environmental education outreach to five counties in Northwest Florida.
