The Shed BBQ & Blues Joint takes home 18 National Awards
Destin, Fl - National BBQ Association's 2011 Convention was held in Greenville, South Carolina, setting the stage for the Gulf Coast's local BBQ Restaurant, The Shed BBQ & Blues Joint to shine. Not only did The Shed cater the conference receiving a standing ovation from 260 of the most renowned legends in the BBQ world today but they carried home a huge bag of awards.
There were four categories at the Convention: BBQ and Specialty Sauces, People's Choice Sauces, People's Choice Pork and Innovative Products. The Shed brought home 18 of these awards. The Sauce and Specialty Sauce: 5 Golds, 6 Silvers, 4 Bronze. The one they are most proud of is their Shed Spred Sweet Southern Sauce served every day at The Sheds brought home a First place among a field of 240 entries. The Shed took First Place in People's Choice Award with their Spicy Mustard Sauce. They also received a Silver in the People's Choice Pork award. And wrapped up the evening with a Gold, First place for their invention of the RoboHog. The RoboHog was created by Brad Orrison, Founder of The Shed. It is a stand that allows a hog to be smoked in a standing position, which makes for a beautiful presentation.
