Luck 'o the Irish at HarborWalk Village

Irish eyes will be smiling at HarborWalk Village. They are hosting authentic Irish St. Patrick's Day celebrations. The 3rd annual Grogg Games & Irish Street Festival March 12, and The Get Lucky Grogg Fest, March 17. Come in St. Patty's Day garb and bring everyone, even pets are welcome.

Be Irish for the day on Saturday, March 12, from noon into the evening, where green reigns supreme, everything from hair to dogs will be sporting green for the day. Enjoy live Irish music by authentic bag pipers of the 23rd Highlanders; Drake Irish School of Dancer dancers who will dance a repertoire of Irish high-energy dances; and DJ Zoran with his unique mix of folk tales, jokes and Irish karaoke. There's even going to be a live 'Irish Idol' karaoke contest for kids with prizes for the top performer. If you can't act the part, then be sure to dress the part. New Orleans native, Frank Faust, a long time French Quarter musician and singer-songwriter, will be on hand for an interactive jam session for both kids and adults.Classic Irish fare and authentic Irish beers will be available at HarborWalk Village restaurants. The 3rd Annual Grogg Games will challenge participants with Irish "kilt" boxing and Dublin style jousting. Stilt walkers will be on hand, as well as arts and crafts activities and Irish folk lore story-telling for the wee folks by the always entertaining Duel Christian. HarborWalk Village merchants will adding their own authentic flavors  with shopping discounts, specials and games for kids of all ages. The day promises to be fun and entertaining for the entire family. All day long, it will be one fun day of continuous singing, dancing, live performances, arts and crafts, karaoke, story-telling and more to celebrate the Irish holiday. The 3rd annual Grogg Games & Irish Street Festival finale will be a performance at 7 p.m. by the energetic Ronnie Dents & Friends, a group of talented local favorite musicians guaranteed to be crowd pleasers. 

Get Lucky Grogg Fest- Thursday ▪ March 17 ▪ 5 p.m.
On St. Patrick's Day, Thursday, March 17, at 5 p.m., participate in the Get Lucky Grogg Fest March. Hundreds of people will 'sham-rock' their way throughout HarborWalk Village from pub to pub for their chance win prizes.DJ Zoran will get the party started at 5 p.m. with Irish karaoke and Grogg marching fun. Practice up for the adult karaoke contest and win prizes. Pick up your Passport by the HarborWalk Village stage, then travel your way through HarborWalk Village to get it stamped.  Drop your Passport off at 9 by the stage where the lucky winners names will be drawn. Also, be sure to register early for the Lucky Jeans contest. The winner of the jeans contest will receive a trip and prize package valued over $500.Each HarborWalk Village venue will entertain with live music, drink specials, contests, games and prizes. From Jester's, The Crazy Lobster, Dancin' Iguana, The Shed BBQ and Blues Joint, Lucky Snapper, to Harry T's (he was Irish!), enjoy Irish Karaoke and Blarney Stone Kissing.   Grogg March participants are encouraged to wear and show their Irish spirit in a unique way for various prizes. After dark, hot leprechauns will compete for the "Sexiest" jeans this side of Dublin. The lucky winner will receive a trip, prizes and more.   At 8 p.m., dance to the music of DOT DOT DOT performing live on the HarborWalk Village stage. This unparalleled band from Chicago, with spectacular chemistry, will deliver a supercharged show for the audience. Then party on into the night along the Harbor and watch out for the leprechauns!
