Peter Bos named 2011 Florida Hotelier of the Year

 Destin Fl- The Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA) named Legendary, Inc. CEO Peter Bos the Hotelier of the Year last week at the FRLA's Annual Awards and Installation of Officers in Tampa, Florida at Saddlebrook Resort. The FRLA Board of Directors, comprised of the nation's leading restaurateurs and hoteliers, chose Bos for this distinctive honor based on the hotelier's personal record of industry achievements over a period of 20 years. Only those nominees who have attained career distinctions of the highest level and are held in high esteem for their notable service to their industry, community, and charitable organizations are considered. Carol Dover, CEO of FRLA said, "We were honored to present this top industry honor to Peter Bos, an illustrious example of Hotelier of the Year." 
 

Peter Bos is founder of Legendary, Inc. in Destin, Florida.  He is also Chairman, President and CEO of Bos Group, Inc. which was formed in 1976 and Legendary Holding, Inc. which he founded in 1991.  As the developer of some of the largest and most prestigious resorts in Florida, the Legendary name is synonymous with full-service hospitality and outstanding real estate developments, including residential, retail, resort hotel and office projects along the Emerald Coast. Bos is the visionary behind several real estate development masterpieces including Sandestin Resort, Regatta Bay, Rutherfords 465, The Destin Commons, The Emerald Grande and HarborWalk Village. Beginning his career in hospitality while attending Cornell University School of Hotel Administration and later working for Interstate United Inc., Bos began his career overseeing the food & beverage operations at amusement park, Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.  Bos later moved to Busch Gardens Tampa to oversee food & beverage operations.  His career in development took off quickly when in his first months in Tampa, he met Jerome Fletcher who convinced him to move to Jacksonville to become EVP of Fletcher Properties, Inc. The job included the construction of three country clubs, thousands of residential units and a free standing restaurant all located in the southeastern United States. This launched Bos into the world of hospitality development.  Bos is also involved in charitable activities including the American Heart Association, Alaqua Animal Refuge and is an active member of his church. "This is indeed an honor to receive such a significant acknowledgment by my peers" commented Bos. "I remain dedicated to bringing developments to the community that benefit all."
