Thank you for responding so quickly regarding your availability for the meeting.  Please submit any agenda items by close of business on Friday, August 20, 2010.  Tri-County has prepared the financial documents and they can be viewed here.  Teleconference will be available.  You are not required to register for the ILARC conference to attend the MPO Advisory Council meeting.

Federal Highway Program Financing

FHWA in collaboration with the Illinois MPO Advisory Council is hosting this event.  The timeline is as follows:  Morning session (9:30 to 11:30); Lunch on your own; Afternoon session (1:00 to 3:00).  The updated outline for the training session is available here. Please respond via email to indicate how many staff will be attending from your MPO office. 

IDOT Letter to MPOs

MPOs and regional planning agencies across the state will soon be receiving a letter from IDOT, Bureau of Urban Planning and Programming regarding upcoming outreach meetings being conducted by the Division of Highways.  Click here for a digital copy of the letter.

Transportation Conformity Rule Restructuring Amendments
This proposal would primarily restructure several sections of the transportation conformity rule so that they would apply for any new or revised NAAQS that are established.

Using Economic Impact Analysis for Transportation Decision-making
The national workshop was held on June 16, 2010, highlighting the new ways state DOTs and MPOs are incorporating economic impact analysis into their program planning, project prioritization and selection processes.  Five speakers representing DOTs and MPOs from across the country were featured in this 90 minute event.  The website also provides a recorded question and answer period.  Click here for materials.

The HUD website, updated on August 6, to include both 1)  Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant Program FAQs and 2)  Tiger II - Community Challenge Planning Grant Program FAQs.  The website also includes a number of additional documents you may find useful in completing applications, including a Data-specific FAQs form and additional information regarding Regional Boundary Definitions for the Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant.

As a reminder, applications are due by 5:00 pm EDT on Monday, August 23.
