Happy New Year!

Dear Friends,

As 2010 comes to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you a happy new year and to thank you for your continued support of the Tel Aviv Foundation.

We can all take pride in the great strides we have made in the past year. Scholarships have been allocated to deserving students, school facilities have been improved, equipment has been distributed to the handicapped, frameworks have been established and projects implemented for populations at risk. To learn more about our projects, please click here.

There is no doubt that our collaborative efforts have improved the quality of life for the residents of the city and have put Tel Aviv on a strong footing for the future.

But as we all know, there is still much that needs to be done. 40% of Tel Avivians still live on or below the poverty line and new projects have to be established to address the city's evolving needs.

The Municipality of Tel Aviv upholds its partnership with the Tel Aviv Foundation by matching most donations dollar for dollar. In 2011, we will be looking to you, our dear friends and supporters, to continue partnering with us in keeping Tel Aviv a great city that is open to the world, compassionate towards its needy and the economic and cultural center of Israel.

Please do not hesitate to call us when you are next in Israel. We would love to give you a special tour of our projects, and to show you firsthand what we have collectively achieved.

Happy New Year to you and your families.

A goodbye note from Avi Maidenberg
Avi Maidenberg
Avi Maidenberg

Dear Friends,

It is with mixed emotions that I announce my departure from the Tel Aviv Foundation, an organization that I have enjoyed being a part of since 2005.  I am making Aliyah with my family - fulfilling a lifelong dream that I have had.

I was fortunate to have been part of the Foundation's most successful years (2006 and 2007) and even part of some of its more challenging as of late.  Most of all, I was fortunate to have met and worked with you.

I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you, our generous supporters, who have made a tremendous impact on the city of Tel Aviv and have made my professional journey so interesting.

Léonore Haskell who has been working with me as our Program Coordinator for the last few years will be taking over as U.S. Operations Director, and I am sure she will do a terrific job leading the organization from here on out.

With appreciation,

Avi Maidenberg
