Miami Celebrates Tel Aviv 100

On October 25, 2009, the Miami Friends of the Tel Aviv Centennial will gather under the leadership of Chairwoman Lin Arison and Co-chairwomen Fanny Haim and Karen Marcus to celebrate the Tel Aviv centennial.
The program will include a moving performance by the New World Symphony, the showing of the
centennial multimedia exhibit, and an intimate dinner reception with Ron Huldai, the Mayor of Tel Aviv.

Westchester Celebrates Tel Aviv 100
On May 17, under the leadership of Co-chairs Ronit Bentov and Mark Selinger, the Tel Aviv Foundation and the Israel Action Committee of the 5 Synagogues of White Plains sponsored a community-wide event to celebrate Tel Aviv's centennial and to benefit Hemda - the Center for Science Education in Tel Aviv. The event was co-sponsored by the Westchester Jewish Conference.
The successful event was attended by more than 800 members of the Westchester community and included a number of Tel Aviv themed activities including the unveiling of our centennial multimedia exhibit.
Attendees were also able to listen to a number of speakers, including Admiral (res.) Abraham Ben Shoshan who spoke about the Foundation as well as Mayor Delfino of White Plains and Westchester County Executive Joseph Spano, who talked about the special relationship between Westchester's Jewish community and Israel.

The Tel Aviv Beach in Central Park
On June 21, New York City will get a taste of one of the only attractions it lacks: a beach. An artificial beach will be set up in Central Park to celebrate Tel Aviv's centennial.

Mayor Huldai Marches in New York Parade
Mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg marched in the Salute to Israel Parade with Mayor of Tel Aviv and International Chairman of the Tel Aviv Foundation Ron Huldai in New York City on May 31, 2009.
In conjunction with this visit, Mayor Huldai also gave an interview on the World Focus program on PBS.

A Magical Ride Through Tel Aviv
In honor of Tel Aviv-Yafo's centennial, the Tel Aviv Foundation and the municipality of Tel Aviv co-produced a multimedia exhibit on the city. This 4D film is a journey across time and space that follows Tel Aviv from an underdeveloped area filled with sand dunes to the modern city at the heart of Israeli culture, economy, and society.
The film provides the opportunity to expereience the city through this virtual tour, and it provides viewers with a taste of Tel Aviv's unique culture and history.
