Leaping 'Labrachauns' and Purring Paddy Cats!
On St. Patrick's Day, it is fun to go green, kiss the Blarney stone and dance a jig. Everyone, including our pets, gets to be Irish for a day.
Picking dog breeds originating from the Emerald Isle is easy. Sure, we've got the Irish Setter and the Irish Wolfhound. And Paw Nation playfully identifies the "Labrachaun" as a 'mischievous, fun-loving retriever who enjoys stout ale." (We all know it is doggy no no to serve alcohol to canines even if they are of legal drinking age in dog's years!). Be the 5th person to email Arden with the names of two other Irish dog breeds and win an autographed copy of her best-selling book, The Dog Behavior Answer Book.
So, can you name any Irish cat breeds? What, cat got your tongue? In doing research, Arden came across this article on the Messy Beast site. Happy St. Patrick's Day to all!

Disaster Strikes: How You Can Aid Animals
Japan is the latest country to suffer Mother Nature's double punch: an earthquake and tsunami. Sherri Scanlan, a proud pet parent of three poodles who lives in Japan and subscribes to this e-newsletter, reports that the devastation is wreaking havoc on many beloved pets left stranded. She informed Arden that the Animal Refuge Kansai (ARK) desperately needs volunteers and donations. She equates to what is happening to animals in Japan to what happened to pets in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana in 2005. Natural disasters can strike anywhere at any time. The call out for help is on. Please check the posts on Pet Connection site headed by Dr. Marty Becker and Gina Spadafori for the latest updates on rescue efforts and ways you can assist. Also click this link HERE. Arden shares these tips to prepare you and your pet against a disaster: -
Prepare a pet evacuation kit that includes a week's worth of food, bottled water, a week's worth of medications, veterinary medical records, extra leashes and collars with IDs, portable food and water bowls and blanket.

Meet Klepto Kitty - A Genuine Cat Burglar!
Dusty, a Siamese cat in San Mateo, CA has given a creative twist to the term: cat burglar. This crafty cat slips out the doggy door of his home each night and scours the neighborhood for items to bring back home. Embarrassed-yet-amazed owner, Jean Chu estimates Dusty's booty exceeds 600 items and includes socks, shoes, towels, dog toys, gloves and yes, even underwear nabbed from neighbors. Recently, Chu staged a "reverse" neighborhood garage sale in hopes of returning her cat's stolen loot back to good-natured neighbors. John Fulton, host of the Must Love Cats show on Animal Planet, set up a special camera to catch Dusty red handed - er, pawed. Click HERE to watch the video. Fulton, an accomplished musician and lifelong cat fan, hosts a special six-part series that documents amazing cats coast to coast. He shared some of his favorite feline tales on Arden Moore's Oh Behave Show on Pet Life Radio. Tune in by clicking HERE.
