Greetings!

I know all our hearts have been touched to the quick by the losses in the wake of our recent flood. Some of our own had flooding in their homes, from basements to entire houses. All of us have felt the sorrow of our city and also witnessed the good hearts of people throughout the region, as they have reached out helping hands to help others.

We will meet Friday night, first touching in to see how everyone is doing. Then we'll continue "Wake Up to Your Life," by Ken McLeod. This week: the first half of Chapter Three, Cultivating Attention. Included:
  • Introduction
  • Meditation
  • Quotation
  • Commentary
  • Six Supports
  • Developing Attention I

Retreat This Month:

Joy-Grace-Awareness
with Greg Bender

Friday, May 21 - 7:00-9:00 pm
Saturday, May 22 - 10:00 am-5:00 pm with a break for lunch

By recognizing and cultivating a manner of being alive, awake and aware in our world, we can embrace the gift of grace, its beauty, kindness, love and compassion.  By embracing and sharing grace we come into a sense of joy which engages the world and brings comfort and abundance for ourselves and others around us.

We will discuss the ideas around awareness, grace and joy,  contemplate their experience and through meditation open the gate of possibility.

Greg has been a practitioner for over 30 years and has been encouraged to teach Mahamudra.

Location: Home of Rita Frizzell in the Belmont/Hillsboro neighborhood, 1716A Linden Avenue, Nashville, TN 37212. 615-463-2374. Click here for map.

You will soon receive an email with a link to register. We may move to a larger location if needed.
Quote of the Week

If you were to draw one essential message from the fact of reincarnation, it would be: Develop a good heart that longs for other beings to find lasting happiness, and acts to secure that happiness. Nourish and practice kindness.

The Dalai Lama has said: "There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; my philosophy is kindness."

- From Rigpa "Glimpse of the Day"
Let's wake up!
