Greetings!

We will gather again this Friday at 7 pm to watch the masterful teaching of the Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche on Progressive Stages of Meditation on Emptiness. This Friday, we delve deeply into the five skandhas (aggregates), looking high and low for a solidly existing self. This is foundational in Buddhism, and the resulting realization is no-self.

We start at 7:00 and end at 9:00, so try to be a few minutes early so you can get settled and we can start on time. (But if you can't get here on time, please come late anyway!) If you can't come Friday night, you have a chance to catch up:

Video Review · This Monday 7 pm · Rita's house
Come and watch the video for the first time or review it to reinforce your learning. Just the video, no discussion, so we can all get back to our busy lives. June 15.

Notes from last week are now posted on the blog, with juicy quotes from the book and the homework for this week.

If you want to do some reading on the skandhas, click here to go to the Rigpa Wiki. (an excellent resource, by the way!)
You're Invited to a Birthday Pool Party!

AJ in pool Sunday, June 14 · 2:00-6:00ish
1426 Broadlands, Murfreesboro, TN

Please join me and my family to celebrate my birthday! We'll provide burgers and hot dogs and all the fixin's... if you want something else, just bring it and throw it on the grill. You're welcome to bring a side dish as well, but there's no need. We'll have plenty. We'll eat around 4:30 to 5:00ish.

No presents required, just your "presence." Drop in any time and bring your favorite sunscreen and a towel. If you'd like to bring someone, just let me know.

My brother has a beautiful home and a great pool in easy reach of the interstate in Murfreesboro. Lounge chairs for sun bathers and shade trees and a koi pond for sitting where it's cool. Cozy will be there, along with my family's poodles and one particular pool-loving Golden Doodle to complete the party.

If you can't come, you're also invited to join me at Dakini lunch Saturday, June 13, 12:00 at J. Alexander's across from Centennial Park.

I'm usually at retreat on my birthday, so this is the first time in a long time I've really had the opportunity to celebrate this day with my friends and family. I'd love to see you at one or the other!

If you can come, please click on the pool image above and respond on the Evite page so we can get a good head count.

P.S. If you don't think your body is "pool ready," join the club. This is the prime of life, let's enjoy it!
Dakini Lunch!

Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche Join your fellow dakinis for Dakini Lunch this Saturday, 12:00 pm at J. Alexander's across from Centennial Park. This week will be especially festive, so join us for a little birthday cake.

Send me an email or give me a call to let me know you're coming so I can reserve a big enough table. 463-2374.

If you'd like to bring a friend, it's BYOD. Just let me know.

Question: Can dakas also come?

Answer: Of course! The dakini is your own mind.
Let's wake up!

With love,

Rita Frizzell
