Celebrating 65 Years of Service!
...with a facelift
The Rehabilitation Institute of Kansas City, or RIKC, if you're on a first name basis, is turning 65 years old (and you can tell)!
Ever since we opened our doors in 1947, RIKC has been an active member of Midtown and Downtown Kansas City, offering superior services for individuals who participate in our medical rehabilitation, employment placement, and disability service programs.

We moved to our current location at 31st & Baltimore in 1968. Since that time, our building has undergone modest renovations.
Today, we embark on our first capital campaign in over 40 years. It has become imperative for our organization to upgrade and expand our outdated operating space in order to meet the growing needs of the community--a community where nearly 14% of the population has a disability and the demand for services is ever-increasing.
In launching our new logo (RIKC), we are strengthening our efforts to kick-off our Rebuilding Lives: Restoring Hope Capital Campaign. These efforts will help thousands of individuals who have experienced catastrophic injury, illness or limitation to reengage in work, school, and active community participation.
Here are a few of the exciting plans ahead:
Expanded Adult & Pediatric Therapy Gyms
New Indoor Aquatic Therapy Pool
Additional Private Treatment Rooms
Front Entrance Relocated from Baltimore to Main Street
New Outdoor Therapeutic Playground
Added Community Education Center
Improved Landscaping & Exterior
Increased Available Parking
Energy Efficiency Enhancements
State-of-the-Art Technology
