Arts on the Hill raises $25,000!
AOH room
This year's Arts on the Hill was far from the ordinary with a beautiful room and amazing art. Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered for the event or was a sponsor. We would especially like to thank Assurant Employee Benefits for allowing us to use their cafeteria.

Jim Hamil, local artist,
 regains abilities at The Institute
Jim and Erin
Kansas City artist, Jim Hamil, and his wife have been long-time friends and supporters of the Rehabilitation Institute.  They never dreamt that one day they, too, would need our services.

On July 8, 2009, Jim experienced an Arterial Venous Malformation (AVM).   The AVM resulted from a series of small blood vessels in Jim's brain which became entangled and began to bleed into his brain.  Similar to a stroke, the AVM affected Jim's ability to walk, talk and function independently.  After a three-week hospital stay, Jim came to the Rehabilitation Institute where he is receiving physical, occupational and speech therapy to regain his lost abilities.
