Employment Services are Building Brighter Futures with Wal-Mart
Michael Hoover found himself walking through the doors of Wal-Mart as his new employer just four months ago. With assistance from The Rehabilitation Institute's Employment Services Michael has a full-time position with benefits. After being referred to the school-to-work transition program seven months ago, Michael met with Terri Henson, our Retention Specialist weekly to create a job plan and secure employment. "Wal-Mart has really worked with Michael to give him set hours," said Terri. With two consecutive days off and an 8 to 5 schedule, Michael has time to do things outside of work he enjoys like playing the guitar. "Wal-Mart loves Michael and gave him the confidence and independence he needed," said Terri. "Our clients are happy with Wal-Mart. They give opportunities to everyone and are open to our job coaches coming in to work with our clients." |
