Do you Clynk?

CLYNK is a Maine recycling company with a unique and innovative bottle redemption system offered exclusively in Hannaford supermarkets in Maine. It is easy, quick and convenient.

Recycled bottles and cans are placed in a special bag, which is then tagged with information that links the donation to the AWS CLYNK account.  Quarterly, Hannaford sends a check to the AWS for the balance collected.

Bags and tags can be picked up at the shelter, filled with your recyclables and dropped off at any Hannaford store.  You can also buy the bags yourself and pick up the appropriate tags from the AWS.  This is one great way to help the AWS without writing a check!  If you have questions or would like more information, give Gail a call at 985-3244 x 117.  If you want to pick up bags or tags, stop by the AWS and ask any staff member for help.

Volunteers Needed!
Are you 16 or older?
Do you love animals?
Do you love to clean?
Are you available from 8:30am-11:00am one or more days a week?
The Animal Welfare Society needs you to clean cat cages and dog kennels!
With the change of season we have experienced a decline of people to clean in the mornings.
Interested?
Download and fill out this application and return it to the shelter. Once approved you will be invited to a volunteer orientation.
Volunteering at the AWS will be a rewarding experience for you and many pets looking for homes.

Meet some of the dogs who recently came to Maine through our Paws Across America Program. We regularly work with rescue groups to find homes for dogs from overcrowded shelters.

The Animal Welfare Society has a number of foster homes that will take care of pregnant cats and kittens until they are old enough to be adopted.

Unfortunately, right now, there are more kittens and moms than homes.

If you have ever considered being a foster family or even if you are considering adopting kittens this is a great way to get to know them.

and return to the foster care coordinators at the shelter.
We also need dry kitten food for the kittens at the AWS and at foster homes. Thank you for your help!
