The Kittens are Coming!Every spring brings "kitten season" to every shelter in the US. As the weather warms, cats begin to mate...and you know what that means!
While we certainly do our part with our extensive spay and neuter efforts and in-house Clinic, it doesn't stop the flood of kittens that need our help each spring.
Many will come to AWS with their mothers, only days old. Others will come alone or in pairs, without a mother. And still more will be born at AWS, after their mother has found her way to AWS needing shelter. Last year, nearly 1,000 kittens needed our help in the spring and summer months alone.
You can imagine all of the supplies, time and love that goes into raising these beautiful babies until they are ready for adoption.
That's where you come in!
We invite you to attend our annual Kitten Shower to prepare for their arrival! This year's event will be held Saturday, May 12 from 12pm - 3pm.
Our expectant mothers (and foster families) will need the following supplies:
Kitten Milk Replacement (KMR) * Kitten Nurser Bottles *
Cat Litter * Kitten Food * Cat Beds * Kitten Toys *
Donations for Medical Care
Enjoy raffles, photo contests, lunch items and crafts for the little ones while you visit with the staff and volunteers that will be caring for the kittens.
