Foster Homes Needed...
We have many dedicated volunteers that
take orphaned kittens, pregnant moms and moms with kittens into their homes
during this time of year in order to give them a good start in
life.
And, we always need more!
Last
year the AWS took in and cared for more than 1,800 cats and kittens. Many of the kittens come to the shelter without moms and need extra
love and attention.
Do you have an interest in providing a
foster home for these special animals? All you need to provide is a
clean, safe environment separate from your own pets and lots of love; we provide the rest, including
food, litter, toys and other necessary items.
Kittens can be
spayed or neutered once they reach 2.5 pounds, which is usually
around 10 weeks of age. Therefore, most foster situations last one to
two months.
If this sounds like an opportunity you would enjoy, please contact Kirstin Minnini at 207-985-3244 x 102 or drop her an email... Kirstin@animalwelfaresociety.org to get more information.
Can't take in foster kitties but still wish to help? Please consider a donation to help in their care.
