KSB Community Investment Ballot

It's that time!
If you're a Kennebunk Savings Bank customer, you've probably received your annual Customer Ballot.  Based on their customers' votes, Kennebunk Savings commits a portion of its earnings to area nonprofits.

We encourage you to take a moment to make a difference by casting your vote for our animals.

Each vote means nearly $20 for AWS!
Last year, your votes meant medication, food and supplies for the 3,300 homeless animals we care for each year.

Project Kitten Challenge

Spring is in the air and the Animal Welfare Society
is gearing up for the hundreds of homeless kittens that will arrive at the shelter this spring and summer.

"Kitten Season" is an annual occurrence, referring to the time of year when cats tend to mate. The resulting kittens are born in the early spring through summer.

We need your help to prepare for all the babies!
AWS challenges local organizations, classrooms, clubs and other groups to take the "Project Kitten Challenge."

Collect much needed donations of supplies and bring them to the Kitten Shower on Saturday, May 8th. Donations from our kitten wish list will be weighed and the winning group will receive a behind the scenes tour of the Shelter and a Pizza Party!

The Kitten Shower will be held at the Shelter on Holland Road in West Kennebunk from 11am - 2pm, and will include a photo contest, bakesale, many fantastic raffle items, and craft items for sale.

The Kitten Shower Wish List includes:
Cat Litter
Wet and Dry Kitten Food
Canned Cat Food
Kitten Milk Replacement (KMR)
Cat Beds
Kitten Toys

For more information about the event, please contact Gail at 207-985-3244 ext. 117.

If you are unable to participate in the Kitten Shower festivities, please consider a donation to the AWS Spay and Neuter fund.
Thanks to your help, each animal adopted from AWS is spayed or neutered. We also do what we can to help those in our community who cannot afford the procedure for their own cats.

Spay Day Campaign a Huge Success!

The Animal Welfare Society and Spay Day Committee wish to thank Area Veterinarians for their
Dedication to Maine's Animals

Staff and volunteers from the Animal Welfare Society wish to thank the 11 area veterinary clinics who participated in the month long event celebrating the 16th annual International Spay Day in February.

More than 600 cats were spayed/neutered for low-income Mainers. By collaborating with area veterinarians to provide low-cost spay and neuter surgeries, the AWS hopes to help low-income Mainers retain ownership of their cats and to prevent thousands of unwanted kittens from being born and entering Maine's animal shelters.

This campaign would not have been possible but for the generosity of the following clinics:

Animal Medical Associates, Saco
Biddeford Animal Hospital, Biddeford
Down Maine Veterinary Clinic, Sanford
Homeport Veterinary Practice, Kennebunkport
Kennebunk Veterinary Hospital, Kennebunk
Limerick Mills Animal Hospital, Limerick
Lucky Pet Animal Hospital, Berwick
Mann Memorial Clinic, Kennebunk
South Berwick Veterinary Hospital, South Berwick
Southern Maine Veterinary Care, Lyman
Post Road Veterinary Clinic, Wells
