Thank you for making 2009 a great year!
Thanks to your help, encouragement and support, 2009 proved to be one of our best years yet!
3,305 animals received our care - the most in recent memory. Your help ensures that every animal is warm, dry, well-fed and medicated as needed. Most importantly, they receive a loving touch by our professional staff and amazing volunteers. Help spread the word about our available dogs, cats and small animals.
Our troop of 200+ volunteers donated 13,281 hours in 2009 doing everything from sweeping the floors, loads of laundry, dog walking and stuffing envelopes. No matter how much or how little time you have, we have something that you can do! Become a part of our team today.
Our annual dog walk, Strut Your Mutt, raised the most money EVER! More than $55,000 was raised for animal medical care - and has truly made a difference for so many animals. Save the date: join us on September 13, 2010!

Pet Portrait Days Return!
Studio by the Pond has again generously donated their time for this fun event. With a donation of $25 to AWS, you'll receive a free, professional 5x7 portrait. This event isn't just for pets - have a family portrait taken!

Have a Night Out on the Town!
Join us at One Dock at the Kennebunkport Inn on Wednesday, March 3 from 6pm until 9pm for drinks, appetizers or dinner.
Thanks to our friends at One Dock, 15% of the evenings revenue will be donated to AWS!
According to popular TV chef, Gordon Ramsay, his meal at One Dock was the best meal he had at a Maine restaurant!

Haiti Fund Update
Thanks to your tremendous support, AWS sent a check for $5,210 to Humane Society International (HSI) to assist in their efforts to help the animal victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
We will be sending HSI a second check this month with more than $1,000 received since our last donation.
Donations to this fund are still being accepted, and will be forwarded in their entirety to the efforts in Haiti. If you wish to donate to this fund, please visit our online donation page, and select Haiti Fund.

We're hoping to raise enough money to purrr-chase 9 sanitary (and really fun!) cat bed towers for our Community Cat Rooms!
These durable and easily sanitized towers would allow our residents to climb, jump and nap all day
long if they wanted to...after all, they're cats!
