As the weather warms, many more cats are being brought to us by local animal control officers. If your cat goes outside on occasion, there are a few things to remember: 

• Please be sure your cat is spayed or neutered
• Purchase a break-away cat collar and identification tag that includes your phone number.
  
• If your cat doesn't come home at its usual time, please don't delay in contacting your local animal control officer and the shelter to file a "missing cat report." Only 1% of cats brought to shelters are claimed by their owner, simply because many people assume that their cat will come home "eventually."
  
• If you do file a missing cat report and your cat returns home, please be sure to call us to let us know.
