AmericanIssueDeadline Coming Fast for Non-Profits
The State of Illinois has passed funding legislation, as a part of the Illinois Energy Plan.  This plan includes a program called the Community Renewable Energy program, which provides up to 50% funding of eligible projects for the purchase and installation of renewable energy equipment.  HarneTech represents two products that could be very attractive to non profits in this area.  The first is EnerWorks, which is a solar hot water heating system and very efficient for organizations that use a lot of domestic hot water.  The second is SolarWall, which pre-heats the air before it is used by the HVAC system.  Both of these proven technologies will significantly reduce energy consumption and with these incentives the payback can be as low a 5-10 years.

Application deadline for the Community Renewable Energy Program is October 26th, so call HarneTech today and we will help your non-profit enter the renewable energy era.

Solar Water Heating System Terrific for Hospitals, Assisted Living, and Term-Care Facilities
Ever improving technology, energy price fluctuations, and a variety of grant programs make investment in solar products quite attractive.  EnerWorks' Spectrum Commercial Solution can provide an effective and economical way to provide hot water heating and reduce your energy consumption and cost.  This solar application is especially ideal for facilities that use large amounts of domestic hot water at specific points during the day, such as healthcare facilities like hospitals, assisted-living, and term-care facilities.

Recent State of Illinois funding through the Illinois Energy Plan provides grants for a variety of programs.  One in particular, the Community Renewable Energy Program (see above), will provide various levels of funding to eligible applicants, such as schools, universities, local governments, not-for-profit organizations, and businesses, for projects such as EnerWorks' solar water heating system.

The application deadline is October 26th, so contact Drew Trammell at HarneTech to begin the process of exploring opportunities for your organization.

HarneTechConsultingHarneTech® Energy Audits
Energy Audit of EliteXpo
Recently, as part of the Smart Energy Design Assistance Center program, HarneTech energy auditor, Tim Warren, conducted a site inspection and analysis of EliteXpo Cargo Systems.  The analysis provided energy savings and life-cycle cost estimates for various energy cost reduction measures (ECRMs).  Our efforts have identified $74,346 in potential energy savings projects.  This results in a 10.61% Internal Rate of Return (IRR) for the combined energy efficiency investments.  These savings amount to a $8,234 reduction in annual utility costs.

"The best thing was that they provided EXACTLY what they promised. There was no research left to be done. It [the SEDAC energy audit and report] gave us direction, provided pricing, and recommended approved vendors. It was phenomenal!"
Heidi Maschmann, VP of Information Systems

Implementing the recommendations in this report will enhance EliteXpo Cargo Systems bottom line, increase profitability, raise the market value of the building and reduce vulnerability to fluctuations in energy input prices.  If you are interested in HarneTech's® Energy Audits, please click here.
