HarneTech Solar Design and Proposal Process
HarneTech Management has made a decision to offer, for a limited time, free basic solar designs for solar hot water heating (EnerWorks) and solar air heating systems(SolarWall) for qualified commercial and residential customers.  Our process begins with a walk through and assessment of the facility. If there appears to be a cost effective opportunity, we then do the following:
  • Digitally render the facility with Solar Products integrated
  • Verify the design with our team, vendor, and customer...adjust accordingly
  • Request a minimum of two budget installation quotes from local installers that we respect
  • Calculate Federal and State tax incentives
  • Provide a final estimate of project costs, including payback and ROI calculations
This free offer is only available for a limited time to qualified customers.  Please contact michael.wilder@harnetech.com in our Sales department for more details.

HarneTechConsultingHarneTech® Consulting
HarneTech's Sustainability Consulting team was established to assist all members of our economy to achieve their respective energy, financial, or environmental goals. HarneTech's clients, both public and private, are leaders in this re-emergence.  Many have identified the need to establish their own sustainability master plans as a blueprint to properly utilize the available resources and secured funding and carry out their goals. HarneTech is currently working with municipalities such as Highland Park and Hanover Park, and are in discussions with many other local governments.

The HarneTech model includes a comprehensive three-phase process (Baselining, Visioning, and Plan Development), driven by the ultimate development of a formal sustainability plan.  In addition, our depth of experience and close contacts within the utility companies, governmental support programs and environmental associations allow us to efficiently gather the right level of data necessary to recommend the appropriate action for our clients.

HarneTechCommunityHarneTech® in the Community
HarneTech recently had the opportunity to be involved in the Career Connections program at Thomas Middle School in Arlington Heights, IL.  Students from Thomas spent the morning with HarneTech meeting our staff and finding out about our company, posing questions to our energy auditors and learning about solar designs and innovative solar product.

The students also had the opportunity to take a trip to see Devon Bank in Wheeling, a Gold LEED certified building.  Devon Bank is in the process of getting Platinum certification and has many sustainable features, including daylighting, solar panels, a green roof, and vertical wind turbines.  HarneTech had a great time with the students and look forward to partnering with Thomas Middle School again in the future!

ArchitectEngineerCalling all Architects and Engineers!!!
HarneTech will be hosting a series of events at various points during the remainder of the year and throughout 2010 for architects and engineers.  They will be approximately 1 hour in duration and will be focused on introducing renewable energy products and strategies to our partners in these industries.  They will be by invitation only. The first event will be focused on solar air and water heating solutions, relevant to the Chicago climate. They will also be good networking events to compare problems and solutions with other architects and engineers that are using green technology in the Chicago area.

If you or another architect or engineer would like to get on our invitation list, please send an email to info@harnetech.com.  Please list your contact information, firm information, and title.  These events will be designed specifically for architects and engineers only.   Separate customer and contractor events are in progress.

DidYouKnowDid you Know???
It takes only 5% of the energy to make an aluminum can out of recycled materials....95% energy savings and less room used in our landfills!  Energy saved from recycling one ton of aluminum is equal to the amount of electricity the average home uses over 10 years. (Keep America Beautiful, 2006)

Yet, while many municipalities offer very strong residential recycling programs (we trust all of you are recycling at home), commercial businesses (largest generators of waste) are not given the option and must pay a premium to recycle.  Due to the lack of "city wide" contracts, a disproportionate amount of recyclable items are being sent to ever-crowded landfills.

The only way this can change is if businesses and local leaders encourage their vendors and local officials to organize a commercial recycling program.  As stewards of our respective communities, it is important to express the importance of recycling collectively.  It is only then that changes will occur. Some local municipalities have already taken a leadership role, such as Mt. Prospect, and their efforts are applauded.

If you are interested in establishing a recycling program for your business, please feel free to contact HarneTech at info@harnetech.com.
