President's Message
When we work together great things can happen.
With renewed energy and strong collaborative efforts, LARASA's Education, Health, Public Policy and Outreach Initiatives are working with individuals, families and sister agencies to effect change to improve the lives of Latinos in Colorado. LARASA continues to be a strong voice for the community on the critical issues of vehicle impound fees and immigrant justice/immigration reform.
Achieving comprehensive immigration reform has not been and will not be easy; all voices need to be heard on this issue. Please join Congressman Jared Polis (U.S. Representative from Colorado), Congressman Luis Guitierrez (U.S. Representative from Illinois), and Most Reverend Charles J. Chaput (Archbishop of Denver), for Familias Unidas United Families, a community meeting on Saturday, June 13. RSVP ONLINE TODAY!
The Familias Unidas United Families Planning Committee is requesting volunteers for a variety of activites and tasks. Vist larasa.org for more information and to volunteer for this important community event.
We are working with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), Rights for All People (RAP) and Colorado Progressive Coalition (CPC) to educate members of the community about the dangers of a car impound initiative that is scheduled to be on the ballot in Denver, Lakewood, and Aurora this fall. We will keep you informed about this issue.

LARASA Learning Centers Achieves 100% Participation in CSAP Testing
We are very proud of our students, 100^% of whom took the CSAP test in March. Thanks to the efforts of our staff and partners, we were able to provide each student with a snack during each day of testing (3 weeks!).

LARASA Adult Education Program Growing
LARASA's Adult Education Program, featuring ESL and citizenship preparation classes, is proud to announce that 41 individuals have passed the citizenship test in the past year. Classes are held at the Theatine Education Center at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. The program will be launching a computer lab for adults in mid-June.
