MESSAGE FROM CAROL HACKER
January 2012

Carol HackerNew Year's Resolutions
By now, if you were one of the 40-45% who made a New Year resolution, you are 64% likely to have stuck with it.  Congratulations!  If you are like me (the other 55-60%) it is not too late to make some.  It is noted that people who explicitly make a resolution are 10 times more likely to attain a goal than those who don't do so.  So I have some easy ones we can do together - committing as a group also enhances our likelihood of accomplishment.

Resolve to contact at least 3 people you have lost touch with since your Babson days in the next month.  Go to our enhanced on-line directory and update your profile and look for others.  Looking to reconnect with a faculty member or staff?  Try our new Babson mobile app available for iOS, Android and Blackberry which features a Faculty and Staff Directory.

Resolve to follow @babsonalumni on Twitter starting today.  It will keep you updated with all the latest news on the amazing things your alma mater is doing.  Join our group on Facebook (Babson College Alumni) or on LinkedIn (Babson College Community).  A list of all other active Babson accounts can be found here. You can also find news on the Alumni & Friends Network section of the Babson web site. Finally, submit your own news that is posted on-line.

Resolve to make plans now to attend Back2Babson (B2B) September 28-29, 2012.  All alumni welcome with a special invite to undergraduate and MBA alumni from years ending in 2 and 7.  Reunioners can volunteer to help make it a special event by contacting Judy Curley.

Resolve to become a Babson promoter this year.  Attend an event, over 160 held around the world last year alone, post an internship or job for a student or graduate, volunteer or lead an effort, give to the Fund for Babson  by the end of our fiscal year (June 30th) to help us meet our financial obligation to the students of today, and wear your Babson attire with pride!

BABSON CARTOON
A cartoonist and a business school are an unlikely pair but Babson isn't a traditional business school and Hugh Macleod of Gapingvoid, our official cartoonist, isn't your typical artist. In partnership, Gapingvoid and Babson are helping entrepreneurs lead organizations, by better communicating stories through cartoons that can inspire and align. The cartoons make statements, spark conversations, and inspire action. They help us communicate our belief in the power of entrepreneurship in organizations of all shapes and sizes and our strategy to lead the advancement of Entrepreneurship of All Kinds to make a better world. Featured below is the third in a series of cartoons that will be released monthly in our Alumni Newsletter.
