MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Next week, I will be traveling to Beijing, China, where I have been invited to speak at the Beijing Forum--an annual conference organized to promote the study of humanities and social sciences in the Asia-Pacific region. It may seem to be an anomaly for the president of a business school to be addressing a forum with this mission. However, Babson's leadership in expanding and extending the field of entrepreneurship has created widespread interest in how other academic institutions and, indeed, countries can learn from our experience. Wherever I go, of course, I will be talking up Babson, our great students, and the impact we are having across the world.
I am especially looking forward to meeting with alumni in China for another Babson first--a celebration in Hong Kong of the formation of the Babson Alumni Club of Greater China. I also will be hearing presentations in Shanghai by our undergraduate students who are in China as part of our first Brazil, Russia, India, and China (BRIC) program; spending time at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, which is a partner in our new global MS Degree program; meeting with our Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) research partners; and meeting with individual alumni and parents.
