Cyprus hospitality capacity highlighted during the EU Presidency |
|
Cyprus has been at the centre of Europe since July 1 this year after taking the helm of the EU Presidency - a position it will hold until December 2012.
European officials are already feeling the characteristic warmth of local hospitality and enjoying the wonderful autumn weather as they are welcomed to the island.
During the Presidency, around 180 conferences will be held in different regions of the island with some 40,000 people visiting Cyprus for the government meetings.
Conference facilities in many locations have been upgraded. This will definitely leave its mark in attracting additional MICE business in Cyprus in the future.

The power of Cyprus herbs |
|
Visitors to the island can learn all about Cypriot herbs and how to use them at the Aromatic and Healing Herbs of Cyprus Conference and Expo, which takes place annually and is organized by the Troodos Regional Board of Tourism with the support of the CTO. This year's event will take place in the town of Platres in the Troodos Mountain on November 3 - 4 and includes informative lectures as well as a range of herbal products such as teas and cosmetics that make lovely souvenirs.
Activities involving herbs are also unique idea for team building or incentive training; groups can pick herbs and distil the oils whilst bonding and working together in a relaxing and natural environment far away from the stresses of the office and modern life.
Cypriot herbs are one of the elements that make up the island's health tourism offering which includes both medical tourism and wellness tourism.
