Lebanese market growing | |
Lebanese arrivals to Cyprus grew 34% in 2010 compared to 2009, with 20.660 tourists making it to the island last year as compared to 15.425 in 2009, according to the latest figures released by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO).
Cyprus however remains one of the most popular destinations on the Lebanese tourism lists. Further analysis of the figures showed the average length of stay of a typical Lebanese tourist is 4.2 days and average spending is US$ 526.
In 2011 arrivals from Lebanon are still showing strength in the first quarter with an increase of 12% compared to 2010.

What the disabled visitor needs to know about Cyprus |
 A number of facilities are available to visitors with special access needs who wish to visit Cyprus. Since facilities vary from hotel to hotel, it is recommended to contact the hotels directly in order to ascertain that they have the right facilities for a particular disability. Hotels offering facilities for the disabled can be found in the Cyprus Tourism Organisation's annual publication " Guide to hotels, Travel Agencies and other Tourist Establishments".
Both Larnaka and Pafos international airports are qualified for visitors with all kinds of access needs. Facilities include accessible washrooms, charging stations for electric wheelchairs at departure gates, ramps to allow a person on a wheelchair to enter or exit the buses and additional assistive services, meeting European Regulation 1107/2006 concerning the right of disabled travellers.
In 2007, the Cyprus Parliament approved and introduced the use of the European Blue Badge for parking at designated places for the disabled, available all over the island, both in public roads and parking areas. The authority responsible for issuing the Blue Badge is the Service for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled, part of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance. Website: www.mlsi.gov.cy/dsid
Most Cyprus' towns are fairly accessible with a wheelchair but much work is yet to be carried out to improve infrastructure. A person using a wheelchair is advised to be accompanied by an able person for assistance in inaccessible areas. Transportation around the island can be arranged if prior notice is given to the transport companies. Special buses are also available with low gradient ramps, safety belts and a/c and so are special taxis that may carry a person who is seating on a wheelchair. A not-to-be missed performance by the Impresario of "Cool", Mr Malkovich enthralls audiences with his icy calm demeanor and seductive wit.
"Dead Famous Productions" brings an extraordinary performance to the island, entitled "The Infernal Comedy: Confession of a Serial Killer". Boasting Oscar nominee and celebrated theater and cinema virtuoso, John Malkovich in the lead role, and accompanied by Vienna's Akademie Orchestra, and two sopranos, this internationally acclaimed performance will be part of the Kypria International Festival. The performance will take place at Amphitheater Makarios III (School of the Blind) in Lefkosia (Nicosia) on 17 September 2011 at 20:30.
Malkovich, who has captivated audiences in such films as "Dangerous Liaisons", "In the line of Fire" will be backed up by an exceptionally high caliber of music, with pieces by Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi and Haydn, all performed live during the show.

تزايد أعداد السياح اللبنانيين إلى قبرص |
ازدادت أعداد السياح اللبنانيين القادمين إلى قبرص بنسة 34% في عام 2010، وذلك من 20,660 سائح في عام 2010 مقارنة بـ 15,425 سائح في عام 2009، وفق آخر احصائيات منظمة السياحة القبرصية. ولا يزال قبرص على لائحة أكثر الوجهات شعبية بالنسبة إلى السياح اللبنانيين. وأظهرت الاحصائيات بأن المعدّل المتوسطي للفترة التي يقضي فيها السائح اللبناني عطلته في قبرص يبلغ 4,2 يوماً بينما معدّل الإنفاق الفردي يناهز 526 دولاراً أمريكياً.
وتظهر المعطيات الأولية الخاصة بأعداد السياح القادمين من لبنان في الربع الأول من هذا العام استمرار هذه الزيادة والتي بلغت في الفترة المذكورة 12% مقارنة مع 2010.

ما يحتاج معرفته المسافر من ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة عند السفر إلى قبرص |
هناك عدد من التسهيلات المخصصة للزوار من ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة ممن يرغبون بزيارة قبرص. بما أن هذه التسهيلات تختلف من فندق إلى آخر فإنه من المستحسن الاتصال مباشرة بالفندق للتأكد من وجودها. يمكن رصد هذه التفاصيل في الكتيب السياحي الذي يحمل عنوان " دليل الفنادق ووكالات السفر والمنشآت السياحية" المتوفر لدى فروعنا.
يقدم كل من مطاري لارنكا وبافوس خدمات لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة بما فيها دورات مياه خاصة ومواقع شحن بطاريات كراسي المقعدين ومصطبات لمساعدة ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة عند ركوب الحافلات أو التدرج منها وخدمات مساعدة إضافية تتوافق مع التعليمات الأوروبية برقم 1107 / 2006 المتعلقة بسفر ذوي الاحتياجات.
وافق البرلمان القبرصي في عام 2007 على استخدام الشارة الأوروبية الزرقاء الخاصة للمواقع المخصصة لصفّ السيارات المستخدمة من قبل ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة والمتوفرة في أنحاء الجزيرة سواء في الطرقات العامة أو في أماكن صفّ السيارات. الجهة القائمة على إصدار الشارة الزرقاء فهي الدائرة الخدمية للعناية وتأهيل ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة في وزارة العمل والتأمينات الاجتماعية وموقعها الالكتروني: www.mlsi.gov.cy/dsid
معظم الخدمات الموجودة في المدن والبلدات القبرصية مؤهلة لاستخدامات أصحاب الاحتياجات الخاصة ولكن هناك الحاجة إلى المزيد من أعمال البنية التحتية. يفضل أن تكون زيارة الشخص المعاق برفقة شخص آخر يقدم له العون.
يمكن تنظيم تنقل الأشخاص من ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة في أنحاء الجزيرة عبر وسائل نقل معدّة خصيصاً لهذا الغرض، ويجب إعلام شركات النقل مسبقاً بذلك. وهناك حافلات خاصة تحوي على مصاطب مخفضة وأحزمة خاصة وخدمات تكييف معدّلة، كما توجد سيارات أجرة خاصة معدّة لنقل أشخاص يستخدمون الكراسي الآلية. يمكن الحصول على المزيد من المعلومات من مكاتب منظمة السياحة القبرصية ومن الكتيب الموجود على هذا الرابط.
