| Sun and Sea number one trigger for Middle East travelers |
This year our office will be celebrating five years of presence in the Middle East through the Dubai office and we decided to take a look at why travelers decide to visit Cyprus from this region, and the research has shown that the main reasons are ...Sun and sea followed by nature and history / cultural sights!
We were also delighted to find out that amongst all the geographical regions in the world that decide to insert Cyprus in their Google search bars, in the top ten list Lebanon came number one in showing interest towards our destination and the UAE number nine. |

Incentive familiarization trip from UAE |
Limassol In December 2009, we had organized our first familiarization trip especially geared towards the incentive organizers from the UAE.
The invitees had the chance to participate in activities which were MICE orientated and meet Cypriot professionals from the CIMA (Conference Incentives and Meeting Associates) to discuss working partnerships.

سيما هي الجمعية القبرصية الوحيدة التي تضم ممثلي شركات إدارة الوجهات السياحية والمتخصصين في تنظيم وإدارة الأحداث. تسعى الجمعية إلى تعزيز التجارب المبنية على الحوافز بالإضافة إلى سعيها إلى خلق روابط مهنية بين الأطراف المعنية ووضع معايير معنوية وتقديم حلول رفيعة المستوى.
تأسست الجمعية في عام 1997 بهدف دعم سوق سياحة المؤتمرات والحوافز ومساندة الأفراد والمؤسسات المرتبطة بها ومنها شركات إدارة المقاصد السياحية والفنادق ومراكز المؤتمرات وشركات الإنتاج الفني وإدارات المواقع الخدمية المختلفة وكافة الشركات التي ترتبط مع سياحة المؤتمرات والحوافز عموماً.
تهدف سيما إلى مساعدة وتطوير هذه الشريحة السياحية المتخصصة وصيانة مصالحها من موقعها كهيئة مساندة ومتجاوبة مع المستجدات التي يواجهها الأعضاء على نطاق السوق المحلي والعالمي.
وسيبقى الهدف الرئيسي لـ"سيما" هو رفع كفاءة سوق المؤتمرات والحوافز في قبرص والحفاظ على السمعة الطيبة التي يتمتع بها قبرص عالمياً في هذا المضمار، لاسيما في مجال تقديم مختلف الخدمات.

CIMA: The Cypriot Association of DMC's and Event Professionals |
CIMA (Conference Incentives and Meeting Associates) is the only Cypriot Association of DMC's and Event Professionals committed to motivational experiences, professional relationships with ethical standards and best in-class solutions.
Formed back in 1997, with its aim to firstly and fore mostly assist the MICE ( Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) market and those primarily involved in this sector of tourism such as: DMCs, hotels, conference centers, audio visual companies, venues and all other companies related to the MICE industry in Cyprus.
CIMA aims to assist and to better facilitate this specialized tourism sector on behalf of its members, to react and safeguard, as a body, given situations that we face into today's market, both national and international. CIMA's primary target has been and always will be that of making the MICE market more proficient and to continue to safe keep the good image that Cyprus enjoys internationally, as far as service is concerned.

سيحتفل مكتبنا في دبي هذا العام بمرور خمس سنوات على تواجده في الشرق الأوسط وقمنا بهذه المناسبة بإلقاء نظرة على الأسباب التي تدعو السياح من منطقة الشرق الأوسط لزيارة قبرص ودلت دراستنا بأن العاملين الأكثر جاذبية هما البحر والشمس، ويليهما جمال الطبيعة والمواقع التاريخية والثقافية.
وما أسعدنا معرفتنا بأنه من بين كافة دول العالم التي قام سكانها بإدخال كلمة "قبرص" في جهاز البحث غوغل، حلّ لبنان في المرتبة الأولى، حيث تبيّن بأن اللبنانيين يبدون الاهتمام الأوسع تجاه قبرص، وجاءت الإمارات العربية المتحدة في المرتبة التاسعة. |

رحلة تعريفية لمنظمي سياحة الحوافز من الإمارات العربية المتحدة |
في ديسمبر 2009 قام مكتبنا بتنظيم الرحلة التعريفية الأولى إلى قبرص لمنظمي سياحة الحوافز في الإمارات العربية المتحدة. خلال الرحلة أتيحت للمشاركين فرص عديدة لمتابعة فعاليات متنوعة تتعلق بسياحة المؤتمرات والحوافز (المعروفة اختصاراً مايس MICE)، بالإضافة إلى فرص الاحتكاك مع أعضاء منظمي المؤتمرات والحوافز القبرصيين، المعروفين اختصاراً باسم سيما (CIMA) ومناقشة موضوعات الشراكة معهم.

A series of cultural events with traditional songs and dances, classical, contemporary music and happenings, organised by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation in Lemesos (Agios Tychonas), Larnaka and Pafos.
January 6
Epiphany
Epiphany is one of the most important religious celebrations of the year. Following a special Mass at the Cathedral of each town, a religious procession takes place down to the sea, at around 10.30 hrs, leading to a ceremonial baptism of the Holy Cross into the sea. During the ceremony the Bishop throws the Holy Cross into the sea and young men dive into the water to retrieve the cross and return it to the priest. Religious celebrations in all seaside towns.

عيد الغطاس أو الطهور
بعد القداس الإلهي الخاص في الكنيسة الرئيسية في كل قرية أو بلدة أو مدينة في قبرص، ينطلق موكب ديني باتجاه البحر في حوالي العاشرة والنصف صباحاً ويقوم رجل الدين بإلقاء الصليب المقدس في البحر ويقوم الغواصون بالسعي للحصول على الصليب وإرجاعه إلى البرّ

مباراة "كل نجوم قبرص"، تنظيم بنك مارفين الشعبي واتحاد كرة القدم القبرصي.
